Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and the Programme Officer, the national UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
Project planning and Annual Workplan formulation supported.
Prepare inputs to the formulation of annual work plans. Provide inputs to detailed implementation plans.
Assists in the formulation of budgets.
Assists in the formulation of procurement and HR plans.
Assists in the revision of annual work plans, periodic revisions of procurement/HR plans ensuring that plans are updated in a timely manner and in close coordination of the UNDP Country Office.
Assist the Project Management Expert and the Programme Officer in arranging meetings with partners and donors.
Project implemented timely and effectively according to plans and in consistency with Country Office Standard Operating Procedures:
Follow up with CO units on pending actions (procurement, recruitment, travel, transportation etc.).
Prepare Travel Authorizations, Mission Plans for submission and follow up with UNDP CO Travel Unit (according to SOPs).
Prepare payment requests and submit to CO (according to SOP).
Ensures accuracy of COA of all payment requests. Assist the Finance and Admin Officer in completion of financial forms and reimbursement documents on completion of field missions.
Prepare Back to Office Reports on completion of field missions.
Project administered timely and efficiently according to UNDP procedures:
Assist the Project team in arranging and conducting capacity building workshops and online seminars for Justice Professionals on the use of technology in court hearings and selected pilot courts in Nangarhar.
Assist the arrangement and conducting test hearings and debriefing discussions with students/trainees in Nangarhar, using video technology, and remain focal point for necessary technical adjustments.
Remain focal point for collection of testimonies, production of advocacy and communication content.
Assist the Project Team and the Peace Programme Unit in regular monitoring and evaluation of the work undertaken under the PIP activities, and draft quarterly and annual reports.
Maintain project supplies and initiate procurement of the required equipment (laptops, monitors and screens etc.), hardware and software (MS Teams, Skype for business or other required software) and provision of required internet access for the pilot courts.
Coordinates ICT support to project with the UNDP CO and coordinate support with ICT helpdesk.
Maintenance of all project documents, records and filling system.
Undertake all other functions as requested by the Project Management Expert, and the Programme Officer, from time to time.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Political Science, Social Science, Public Administration, or related fields.
A relevant Master’s Degree is an advantage.
Required experience:
24 Months
Experience remark:
Two year of relevant working experience in Rule of Law and Improving Access to Justice.
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows-based applications, integrated web-based management systems and spreadsheets.
Good command of written and spoken English, Dari, Pashtu. Additional languages an asset.
Language skills:
