OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The ACT-Accelerator Executive Hub plays a central coordination function and facilitates synergies across the ACT-A partnership by hosting cross-Pillar coordination meetings (including the weekly/bi weekly Principals Group calls and the Facilitation Council co-chairs meetings), developing key strategic joint publications (e.g. strategic plans, budgets), facilitating partnerships (such as with CSOs, the International Chamber of Commerce, G7 and G20) and tracking and reporting on the overall ACT-Accelerator work and financing status. The Hub also hosts weekly resource mobilization and communications calls with ACT-Accelerator partners to coordinate efforts, providing support to individual Pillar/agency outreach. In its role as Secretariat for the Facilitation Council, the Hub supports the regular and intersessional work of the Council Co-Chairs and the convening of the Facilitation Council itself.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Summary of Assigned Duties:

  • Coordinate planning and execution of the high-level ACT-Accelerator Facilitation Council meetings, including developing the agenda, overseeing logistics, drafting high-level political statements, organizing speakers & facilitators, preparing briefs and talking points.
  • Manage communications with the Council Members, including ensuring appropriate protocol when required.
  • Oversee rotation of new Council Members, including tracking rotation of regional cooperation groups, official invitations and onboarding new countries.
  • Facilitate the periodic meetings of the Council Co-Chairs and sub-groups, including both full council meetings and technical pre-briefings.
  • Develop agendas, run-of-show documents as well as slide sets and related materials for the subject meetings, and follow up on key outcomes of the meetings.
  • Support logistics, including moderation, facilitation and WHO facilities support.
  • Manage invitations, registration and participants lists.
  • Manage communications to Facilitation Council Members and Co-chairs.
  • Prepare Briefing Notes and other information products on ACT-A related topics and issues.
  • Provide cross-cutting support to the Hub Lead and other ACT-A team members, especially in the development of the deliverables and information products for the ACT-A Principals and DG Special Envoys.
  • Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: An advanced level university degree (Master's level or above) in Business Administration, Management, a health technical area (such as public health) or another field related to the tasks of the position.

Experience

Essential: A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in project/portfolio management or partnership development/coordination in the field of public health. Demonstrated experience at the international level. Demonstrated experience in planning and running high-level meetings.

Skills

Effective project management skills, with strong planning and execution to deadlines to effectively carry out the work described. Written and oral communications skills with the ability to apply communication techniques to translate highly technical information into presentations, briefings, reports and funding proposals, consult across partners, and provide credible response to inquiries. Ability to work quickly and willingness to manage delivery of materials under time pressure and short deadlines. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Protocol, diplomacy and communication skills. Proven ability to use clear, concise language in correspondence as well as including content fitting for the purpose and audiences when preparing written briefs and reports, including keen attention to detail. Strong interpersonal relationship practices, ability to work as a part of a team, and ability to meet and engage with persons of diverse backgrounds in a multicultural environment. Ability to function with a high level of autonomy at work, willingness and ability to take responsibility yet with profound team-spirit. Adaptive, patient, resourceful, resilient and flexible. REMUNERATION

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 74,913 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 5194 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
