The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of a strategic vision of communications and outreach needs for the Ocean Decade. This position will be carried out within the overall framework of the IOC Programmme and Budget under the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist, Marine Policy and Regional Coordination, and under the overall supervision of the Chief of Section for Marine Policy and Regional Coordination. The incumbent will work closely with the Ocean Decade team and diverse staff within the IOC and UNESCO. The incumbent will be responsible for the supervision of a small team of staff and consultants and will be responsible for contact with external contacts including media, suppliers, contractors and donors.
