ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The programme assisstant will work in Tartous Office and in collaboration with the other units of WFP. This post is based in Tartous and follow under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer in Tartous Office.

JOB PURPOSE

To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Within delegated authority, the programme assisstant will be responsible for the following duties: (These duties are generic and thus are not allinclusive nor are all duties carried out by all proramme associates) ▪ Coordinate with cooperating partners/government counterparts for implementation of nutrition and school feeding programme activities. ▪ Assist in conducting and organizing trainings in nutrition and school feeding for Cooperating Partners and Governmental Organizations. ▪ Assist in preparation of governorate wise, partner wise monthly and quarterly allocation plans projections for food commodities and non food items. ▪ Support commodity management and tracking in coordination with logistics and partners to ensure timely food dispatches to EDPs/FDPs and schools. ▪ Assist with timely submission of reconciled monthly distribution reports (along with invoices where necessary). ▪ Assist in updating and maintenance of Programme data on a monthly basis for various reports (reports may be needed on weekly or need basis). ▪ Cooridnate with MnE for monitoring updates and feedback. ▪ Undertake monitoring visits and follow up with issues in the field and coordinate with Tartous/ Lattakia Office and CO to resolve such issues. ▪ Assist in conducting coordination and programme review meetings. ▪ Provode support in developing IEC materials, reporting formats, briefs, and presentations. ▪ Provide support in organizing programme planning missions, meetings and briefing sessions. ▪ Perform other duties as delegated by the supervisor.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience . ( Nutrition/School Feeding or any other relevat field)

Languages: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic Languages

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

▪ Previous technical experience in nutrition and/or education.

▪ Previous experience with programme implementation and assisting policy especially in nutrition and/or education sectors.

▪ A post secondary school diploma/certificate is desirable.
