What will you do?

Assist in developing project and context-specific monitoring plans that are risk-based and focus on measuring results.

Prepare the monthly Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plan for the offices (Galkayo-Galmudug) in consultation with the Head of programme.

Review the back to office report and share it with M&E technical unit.

Follow up on the risk identified during the monitoring mission with relevant programme section every month for mitigation measures.

Follow up on open issues in the CRM platform and work closely with the relevant units to close them.

Follow up on Market weekly assessment and price with relevant Cooperating Partners operating in the area.

Submit weekly market price to VAM unit as required.

Participate in food security cluster at the region, state as required.

Participate in any ad-hoc interagency assessment at the area of operation, whenever required.

Provide necessary support during an emergency by undertaking rapid assessment or identifying the food needs for the affected population at any time as required.

Support the safety net projects, Baxnano, and ensure proper coordination with CPs, Local authority, Area office, and the project manager.

Undertake monitoring field visits to various activities along the area of operation whenever required.

Assist the Baxnaano focal point on beneficiaries, payment, transfer, and any related activity to Baxnano to make sure all participants received their entitlement correctly and timely as per the project plan and design.

Assist in following up Distribution Reports (DRs) with the CPs and processing CP invoices in a timely manner.

Any other activities assigned as per programme need

Minimum Qualifications?

Education:

Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in administration, public health, nutrition, or related functional area is desirable.

Experience:

Four years of progressively responsible support experience in emergency assistance and humanitarian programmes with good knowledge and experience working in relief, nutrition, SafetyNet, M&E or livelihood-related program activities.Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relations with counterparts, and government officials, including NGO partners, other UN agencies, and private businesses.

Language: Proficiency in both oral and written communication in English and Somali is a requirement.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience working with various implementing partners (NGOs, UN agencies, government counterparts).
  • Ability to plan and organize work, resourcefulness, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in English. Report writing skills.
  • Training and/or experience utilizing computers including word processing, spreadsheet and other WFP standard software packages and systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in WFP interventions in Somalia is an added advantage.
