JOB PURPOSE:

To support all Operational Information Management and Performance Reporting (OIM & PR) activities and contribute to the establishment and presentation of standard operating picture of WFP programme portfolio and associated results that facilitate informed and timely decision-making at all levels throughout the organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):

  1. Under the supervision of the Reporting Officer, ensure that standard OIM & PR procedures and templates are followed to drive the quality, consistency and standardization of information management and performance reporting across WFP.
  2. As per Standard Operating Procedure, draft the Country Brief in English and ensure the translation into French in a timely way.
  3. Support the development of key briefs such as the G5 Sahel ED brief, and work with the other members of the team to ensure the consistency of external documents (i.e. fact sheets and key publications) and/or presentations.
  4. Support the collation and dissemination of political and humanitarian analysis pertaining to WFP current or future responses and donor policies, trends and preferences to ensure country specific input to WFP’s operational reporting.
  5. Under the supervision of the Reporting Officer, support the preparation of Annual Country Reports (ACRs) in collaboration with the country office programme, monitoring & evaluation, logistics and resource management functions by coordinating to ensure coherence and quality of performance information.
  6. Collaborate with counterparts internally to ensure consistency in humanitarian information and to complement WFP analysis and information.
  7. Support the enhancement of the capacity of WFP staff and partners to effectively manage operational information and performance reporting, for example through scheduling the delivery of the OIM & PR training on core competencies.
  8. Provide feedback on activities associated with the Corporate Performance Reporting Improvements.
  9. Support the initiatives for developing improved, streamlined, and harmonized OIM & PR including drafting of OIM & PR related normative guidance, as required.
  10. Support the assurance of defined quality standards in all processes and products, SOP.
  11. Ensure that gender and protection aspects are taken into account in all aspects of reporting
  12. Ensure consistent and efficient archiving of the Unit’s files.

STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Advanced University degree (Master) in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences or other relevant field, with 2 years’ of related work experience and/or training/courses.

A Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences, or other relevant field, with 4 years of related work experience and/or training/courses can be considered in lieu of advanced degree.

DESIRED SKILSS AND EXPERIENCE/

  • Proven skills in Information management, Communications, undertaking research and surveys, preparing research and management reports using Microsoft word and PowerPoint
  • Writing, editing, and proofreading online and print content
  • General knowledge of information management best practices, techniques and processes with some understanding of the basic theoretical background.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including substantive analysis and report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly assimilate, UN/WFP specific processes and systems.
  • Should possess abilities like Teamwork, Communication, Creative Thinking and Client Orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and present ideas and recommendations in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Ability to work independently, strong analytical skills and problem-solving
  • Computer literacy with Word, PowerPoint, and basic spreadsheets (Excel).

LANGUAGES:

  • Fluency in English and French is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge (level B) of Arabic is a strong asset.
