Oil Palm plantation is now growing in numbers and hectraes across the country replacing tropical rainforest and customary land and while the sector maybe boosting as an economic wealth the illegal landgrab and human rigthts abuse commited by the corporate companies maybe overlook.

The assignment is critical as it will give a true picture of the reality on the ground, portraying the weaknessed on the laws governing the Industry, the pratices by individuals in recognised institutions and governing bodies.

The assignment will give a rough estimation of Oil Pam landuse which will determine the current status, trend and portray what may likely happen in the near future in terms of conservation and climate change agenda's.

MDF requires the service of three volunteers to help research and provide information and useful anayitcal data on the number of Oil Palm plantation across Papua New Guinea, do landuse remote sensing survey and classification to indentify changes taking place betwen the start of its plantation until today. The task will involve writing, editing the information and data captured to produce a short paper for publication.

The task also involves researching and identifying simmilar studies being carried out in the past and adapting it to to the present study.

MDF requires the service of three quilified and GIS volunteers who have experience in landuse mapping, forest forest mapping, writing and editing a reserach paper.
