Intern with the IRC through Ladders for Leaders

The IRC is seeking college students with a variety of career interests to intern with us this summer (July – August 2023) through the Ladders for Leaders program. Ladders for Leaders (L4L) is a nationally recognized program that offers high achieving and diverse college students the opportunity to participate in paid professional summer internships. Through L4L, you can intern at one of the world’s leading humanitarian organizations in any department of your interest. This 6-week summer internship will be 25 hours per week and based at the IRC’s New York Headquarters in Midtown, Manhattan. Eligible applicants are college students, ages 18-21, who are New York City residents - regardless of where you attend college.

The Ladders for Leaders program at the International Rescue Committee gives students a unique opportunity to explore their career and educational interests through:

- Pre-employment Training: Receive help with résumé and cover letter writing, and interviewing skills. Learn essential workplace readiness skills and business etiquette. - Paid Summer Internship: Paid internship opportunities available in a variety of departments and global teams across the IRC to accommodate students’ varying interests. - Professional Development Opportunities: As part of L4L at the IRC, you will take part in several professional development opportunities, including weekly Lunch & Learns with IRC leaders who will speak to their specific functions and career paths. - A Cohort of L4L IRC Interns: As part of this internship, you will be joining an engaging, supportive, and inclusive cohort of nearly 100 other high achieving and diverse college students interning at the IRC. - Opportunity to join our growing Alumni Network: Broad network of alumni, post-internship opportunities and networking events open only to past participants of the program
