This involves the day to day coordination of the sector’s activities including monitoring of activity performance, partner relations and reporting. The main objective is to ensure continuity and smooth performance of the sectors activities which comprise of the following main activities: Long Description ---------------- • Youth – The main cluster activity is the [Asia Indigenous Youth Platform](https://aippnet.org/asia-indigenous-youth-platform-aiyp/), plus support to the global [Youth As Researchers](https://yar.bangkok.unesco.org/) and [International Youth Media Summit](https://iyms.org/) initiatives. • Sport – The main cluster activities are [Youth and Sport Taskforce](https://www.youthandsport.org/) and [Winning Indoors](https://winningindoors.com/), plus support to the global [Fit for Life](https://en.unesco.org/themes/sport-and-anti-doping/fitforlife) initiative. • Inclusive Cities – The main cluster activity is the [Asia Pacific Coalition of Cities Against Discrimination](https://apcad.bangkok.unesco.org/) (APCAD) which is implementing the APCAD Social Inclusion Marker System, Cities Art Lab, ICCAR Boot Camp, Masterclass Against Racism and the [World Human Rights Cities Forum](http://www.whrcf.org/en/whrcf.php). Long Description ---------------- • Management of Social Transformations – Currently in planning, through UNESCO’s long-standing partnership with the Thai National Commission for UNESCO and Chulalongkorn University, an initiative on sustainable agroecology in rural Southeast Asia has been supported. • Ethics of Science and Technology – Currently in pre-planning, UNESCO is preparing translations into local languages (Khmer, Lao, Thai, Vietnamese) of the [Recommendation on Ethics of Artificial Intelligence](https://unesdoc.unesco.org/ark:/48223/pf0000381137) to inform consultations and action using the guideline. • [Together for Peace](https://bangkok.unesco.org/T4P) – UNESCO Bangkok’s intersectoral flagship on building peace and sustainability through education. SHS is leading the Positive Peace lecture Series and Hooked on Peace, two new initiatives involving youth. **PURPOSE AND SCOPE** --------------------- The SHS Programme Specialist will assume Office in December 2022 and the Individual Specialist will act as coordinator for the sector’s portfolio of activities until the recruitment is finalized (approximately July-December 2022). **WORK ASSIGNMENT** ------------------- Under the overall authority of the Director of the UNESCO Bangkok Office and the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist in \[to be added\], within the framework of the 41/C5, the Individual Specialist shall undertake the work assignments as follows: 1\. Support UNESCO Bangkok to deliver on SHS Programme activities in an effective and timely manner. This will include coordination of all personnel (staff, interns, consultants, UNVs), management of existing contracts and establishment of new contracts where needed, liaison with partners, information sharing including publications and digital content, financial management and budget monitoring. This shall be done in close consultation with the out-going and in-coming Programme Specialists. 2\. Attend to meetings – including online – within the IBCs and UNCTs’ Working Groups, as well with the national partners 3\. Coordinate the compilation reports, organization of events, and preparation of publications of the Sector 4\. Liaise regularly with the incoming and outgoing SHS Programme Specialists for advice, orientation, and decision Time Frame, Deliverables and Payment Schedule **DELIVERABLES TIMELINE PAYMENT** --------------------------------- 1\. Monthly reports covering the substance of the work undertaken, issues encountered and identifying next steps, to be submitted by the 25th day of each month (July – November). Each report shall be appended with copies of any substantive outcomes (reports, events, publications, etc.). 2\.
