Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world.

DRC Ukraine is looking for highly experienced NFI Officer for office based in Dnipro.

Overall purpose of the role

  • Ensure the quality of the planning, implementation and follow up of all technical aspects of the sector activities being implemented by DRC.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with the persons of concern, relevant stakeholders and other humanitarian actors, to support adequate implementation and coordination of DRC’s sector activities.

Sector responsibilities: NFI item distribution, NFI cash grants, hygiene item distribution, facilitation and trainings on use and distribution management, facilitation and funding of risk reduction initiatives.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Administrative and technical support

  • Ensure efficient and effective program implementation of shelter and settlement activities while following the budget and work plan.
  • Participate in preparing monthly/quarterly/annual highlights/reports and proposals and budgets for donors by providing input.
  • Support the team in carrying out monitoring and evaluation exercises, assessments.

Coordination and representation

  • Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on sector relevant issues.
  • Support in represent DRC at meetings and other relevant technical coordination. meetings, including organizing meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure integration with other DRC sectors.

Project development

  • Support in develop project plans and budgets for funding.
  • Support in develop projects tools.
  • Support implementation and reporting.
  • Monitor and evaluate projects.

Logistics/Finance

  • Support the monitoring of financial commitments and expenditures against budgets and provide timely feedback on budget follow-up.
  • Plan and coordinate proactively logistics and movements of staff from and to different operational areas.
  • Initiate procurements and ensure their execution.
  • Ensure distribution plans are prepared and shared with logistics in a timely manner.

About you:

We expect you to have minimum 2 years of experience in sector area working for an NGO or experience in construction related work.

Required experience and competencies:

  • Relevant university degree (e.g. supply chain, economics, engineering) or equivalent professional qualification that would enable to carry out the main responsibilities preferably outlined.
  • Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures.
  • Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate level of English - ability to communicate both written and oral is desirable. Candidate with extensive filed experience may be consider with basic level of English knowledge.
  • Fluency in local language – Ukrainian or Russian.
  • Field experience and knowledge of area is desirable not mandatory.

We offer

Contract length: 6 months (December 2022 with possibility of extension based on successful probation period and available funding).

Level: H– Non-Manager

Start date: July 2022
