Expected duration Starts asap and through end of 2022.

Duties and Responsibilities Preparatory work (network infrastructure) - Under the supervision of the Connectivity Manager prepare and build the testing environment for the networking infrastructure - Unpack, assemble, install software and licences, configure, lab test and troubleshoot distribution and access network switches for the new building. - Label switches and prepare them for the hand over to the construction Contractor for their physical installation in the new building. Assist the updating the asset inventory records. Commissioning of the network infrastructure - Assist in the testing of the network infrastructure of the Temporary Infrastructure for Conference. - Participate in the installation testing and commissioning of the switches performed by the Contractor. - Perform final tests (endurance, stress, etc.) once the construction Contractor testing is finished. - Troubleshoot network issues once the new building becomes operational and minimise the duration of the impact on the users. - Escalate problems to third level support team. - Maintain and update technical documentation. System integration Participate in the following assignments: - Testing, troubleshooting and fine-tuning the Wi-Fi system - Test the UNOG Distributed Antenna System - Test and troubleshoot the integration of the telephony, audio-visual and video conferencing equipment with the UNOG LAN - Test and troubleshoot the integration of the security systems (IP cameras, access control, public address system, etc.) with the UNOG LAN - Test and troubleshoot the integration of the Building Management System (BMS) with the UNOG LAN - Test and troubleshoot the integration of various other IT systems (SAN, NAS, IPT, WAN, MAN) with the UNOG LAN

Service Support - Diagnose and resolve any hardware, software, or connectivity problem with minimum - impact on end-users - Log all actions in the automated tracking system, including site survey information, steps taken to resolve problem or to complete task, problems encountered, current status, etc. - Escalate problems/tasks to the appropriate parties in accordance with established - procedure - Detect problem patterns and recommend solutions - Provide technical advice to other stakeholders (Security, Facility Management, third party service providers, etc.) involved in the construction, when necessary - Keep abreast of developments in technology both in the UN and in the IT industry

Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A High School Diploma is required. CCNA ( Cisco Certified Network Associate ) training is required ( applicant upload copy of training certificate). CCNA certification is desired. Project management (including risk management) and ITIL certifications are desired. Experience: At least three years of professional experience with Cisco networking (IPT, Wi-Fi, distribution and access switches configuration, upgrading, patching, licencing, testing, troubleshooting, supervisor module, etc.) is required. Proven experience in working in a team is required. At least three years of proven working experience in integrating security IP cameras, access control systems, audio-video and video conferencing equipment, BMS, unified communication and converged networks is desired.
