Organizational Setting

The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

Reporting Lines

The National Data Analysis Specialist shall operate under the overall guidance and responsibility of the FAO Representative in Georgia, the direct supervision of the Technical Advisor of GCP/GEO/021/MUL project, in collaboration with the National Team Leader of the project and in cooperation with the National Food Agency of Georgia.

Technical Focus

Provide technical expertise for the appropriate planning, development and implementation of the FAO project and timely delivery of the project outputs.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Assisting the National Food Agency in data processing using reporting tools of the NAITS (National Animal Identification and Traceability System); • Maintaining and updating the existing NAITS reports, as well as creating new reports of the NAITS in Jaspersoft; • Transferring and adapting data into the formats needed for the National Food Agency; • Performing other related functions as required.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

• University level degree in Information Technologies or similar discipline • At least 5 years of professional experience in databases PostgreSQL or Oracle • Working knowledge of English and Georgian languages (level C) • National or resident of Georgia with work permit
