Expected duration 15 Dec 2021 – 30 Jun 2022 (6.586 months). Monthly payment of 2'800 USD.

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) manages several enterprise ICT systems for extensive use by the peacekeepers in the field missions. These peacekeepers rotate once or twice a year. Field missions are, therefore, left with the challenge of continuously training newly rotated peacekeepers to ensure efficient interaction with the deployed systems.

To assist in this training effort, OICT currently provides user manuals in pdf format. Video content appears to offer a better assimilation. Furthermore, video content can be distributed by streaming over the Internet. These advances in technology and network performance in the field missions would now allow OICT to meet the challenge of continuous training by use of video and motion graphics.

The consultant shall provide expertise in creating video content in a plethora of disciplines e.g., education videos, animation videos, explainer tutorials, product video etc. The consultant is expected to carry out, primarily, the following responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the mangers to conceptualize the subject matter. - Work closely with program managers to align video content with their vision - Create raw footage with a DSLR camera. - Create video content from the system screens using screen capture programs. - Blend existing video and raw footage to produce rough and final cuts. - Distribute the videos using streaming platforms. - Update existing video content with changes in the software. - Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, clients, and development teams.

Qualifications/special skills Skills: The incumbent is required to possess a solid understanding of cameras, lighting, sound recording, photos, video, and audio and the following: - Proficient in assembling, converting, and transferring raw footage for rough cut. - Efficient in improving and correcting lighting, and faulty footage. - Can easily follow a script, screenplay, or outline to create content. - Proficient in inputting audio, voice overs and pre-produced lectures, to enhance content. - Proficient in inputting graphics, illustrations, and other multimedia content to synchronize with footage. - Possesses strong aesthetic sense in selecting stock photos and videos from various online libraries. - Collaborates effectively and efficiently with diverse teams. - Adaptive to work as a shared resource.

The incumbent is expected to work with Adobe ecosystem, which may include Adobe Premiere and After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop. Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and Multimedia or an equivalent degree in Graphic and Audio-Visual Arts. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Graphic Design, Animation and Video Editing. In the event the candidate meets academic qualification, only 1 (one) year of experience may be taken into consideration. Language: Fluency in English is required.
