  • Knowledge of data visualization package (Tableau or another similar package) would be an asset.

Contract

This is a P-4 contract. This kind of contract is known as Professional and Director staff. It is normally internationally recruited only. It's a staff contract. It usually requires 7 years of experience, depending on education.

Salary

The salary for this job should be between 173,480 USD and 223,666 USD.

Salary for a P-4 contract in Geneva

The international rate of 90,970 USD, with an additional 90.7% (post adjustment) at this the location, applies. Please note that depending on the location, a higher post adjustment might still result in a lower purchasing power.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

Unitaid is a multilateral hosted by the World Health Organization. Unitaid is focused on making a unique and impactful contribution to the global response against HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria in developing countries. It catalyses improvements for the larger response through forward-looking and time-limited investments that are designed to increase access to better, more effective and more affordable health products (i.e. preventives, medicines and diagnostics). These investments typically target market-based interventions such as price reductions, improvements in quality and supply, and the introduction of innovative products more suitable for the populations in need.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The role of the M&E Manager is to:

1. Provide specific technical advice to different Portfolio teams, Unitaid's senior management and grantees of Unidaid grants to inform investment and programmatic decisions. Lead and coordinate grant evaluations and data quality audit and maintain Unitaid-wide consistency on all grants.

2. Review grantee reports and analyze performance.

3. Assist with grant evaluations and data quality audit.

4. Oversee reviewing M&E systems of the grantees and provide technical advice.

5. Develop and encourage use of standard M&E approaches, tools and methodologies for portfolio management across teams to enable effective decision making.

6. Lead the development of a number or reports for Unitaid senior management, Unitaid's Executive Board and grantees.

7. Provide oversight to consolidate relevant project data for entry into the Unidaid Monitoring system.

8. Work with portfolio teams to regularly monitor and assess progress of grants.

9. Provide training on M&E to portfolio teams as well as grantees.

10. Produce routine analyses on grant performance for senior management.

11. Support proper functioning of portfolio information systems (UNIPRO).

12. Provide support to consolidate relevant project data for entry into the Unitaid Monitoring System, and-Perform any other duties relevant to the functioning of the M&E Team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: Advanced level university degree in public health, business, statistics, economics or information technology. Course work should include training in monitoring and evaluation of projects in public health and/or epidemiology. Desirable:

Experience

Essential:

1. At least seven years of experience at national/international level in public health, monitoring, evaluation or surveillance;

2. Knowledge of, and experience with, data entry and quantitative data analysis;

3. Experience in producing technical and analytical documents in health-related field. Desirable: Experience in working with a range of global health stakeholders. Good knowledge of grant management processes.

10) Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrated skills in presenting information to group of people with diverse educational and training backgrounds.

REMUNERATION

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 75,602 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 4498 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
