Job Overview:

The International Rescue Committee is looking for a Manager of Strategic Events. Th e role will work under the direction of the Senior Director of Experiential Marketing as part of the Strategic Events team . This team develops and executes high impact, thought leadership, stewardship, cultivation and fundraising events that introduce new audiences to IRC's mission and engages current supporters with our progressive work. These events and activities will include those within the US and abroad.

The Manager, Strategic Events will collaborate with colleagues in International Partnerships and Philanthropy (IPP) and USA Philanthropy to conceptualize and execute on events and other engagement activities that support of achieving bold fundraising goals, raising IRC's name recognition and creating though-leadership opportunities.

The Manager, Strategic Events will possess the ability to effectively run and efficiently prioritize multiple deadlines and work well with people at all levels of the organization.

Major Responsibilities: ---------------------------

· Manage event processes from initiation to wrap up for all global events including but not limited to the following:

o Support the development of concept notes and agenda including research as needed;

o Develop and maintain event project plans, event timelines and budgets;

o Be responsible for event configuration in data and event management systems (Salesforce, Cvent, On Arrival) by building registration pages, emails, guest lists and reports;

o Collaborate with key internal partners to develop and supervise invitation lists and RSVP tracking - provide regular updates to all partners;

o Manage collaboration with Content and Creative team on requested digital and printed collateral design: web banners, invitation emails, presentation, programs, etc.;

o Draft and route event copy: invitation emails, registration confirmation, reminders, event webpage and thank you notes as appropriate;

o Accurately and efficiently enter data to maintain constituent records;

o Own virtual event set up in webinar platform;

o Collaborate with internal teams on post-event wrap up report development;

o Support in the management of event budget;

o Coordinate logistics;

o Secure event space, AV, and other relevant features as needed;

o Prepare branding and event materials;

o Assist in the printing of materials as appropriate;

o Manage onsite event production;

o Responsible for onsite registration and volunteer training/management;

o Coordinate with Experiential Marketing Assistant on the packing, shipping, and delivery of items to event venue.

· Collaborate with fundraising partners on special projects as required.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; related certifications highly desired.

Work Experience: Approximately 2-3 year of relevant work experience in event management, marketing, or equivalent functions. Non-profit experience is a plus.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

- Microsoft Office and database management skills (Salesforce and/or Cvent experience preferred); - Strong attention to detail, and ability to balance multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously while prioritizing them appropriately; - Diligent, showing persistence, patience, and resourcefulness around each task and project; - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and diplomatically with donors, clients, colleagues, vendors, and consultants; - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; - Resilient and able to remain calm in high pressure situations; - Ability to think critically and problem solve quickly and effectively; - A great teammate able to work effectively with multicultural, global teams; - Dedication to respecting and maintaining confidentiality of information; and - Passion for the IRC’s mission.

Working Environment:

This role requires working part-time remote with guidance to current Covid Protocols. We ask candidates to have a home or alternate workspace they can effectively complete their work from during regularly scheduled work hours. Successful candidate should be available to work late evenings and open to travel for events as required.
