You have:

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field including, but not limited to: development studies, economics, MBA, rural & urban planning, or any relevant degree useful in disaster responses and sustainable development programming.
  • Two years prior experience with business development, including advance preparation for bids (Capture) and live bid management in World Vision context.
  • Impeccable written and spoken English, with ability to copy edit documents quickly and accurately.
  • Four years prior professional experience in International Development or related field.
  • Experience in working with a cross-cultural environment – preferably in South Asian context.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and high EQ.
  • Understanding of different bi-lateral, multi-lateral, institutional and private foundational donor policies, priorities and proposal processes.
  • Decision making and conflict resolution skills.

Primary Purpose of Job:

The purpose of this position is to work collaboratively with all departments to advance the acquisition of grant revenue by: developing and managing opportunity capture plans; developing bid action plans and managing live bids; coordinating go/no-go assessments; coordinating after action reviews post submission to improve bidding process and ability to compete generally; leading teaming strategy and processes (for both prime and sub opportunities) in close collaboration with PDQA, SOs, SAPO and other WV partners; assuring the production of best in class cape statements, and updating same on quarterly basis; assisting in the identification of grant funding opportunities; writing key sections of proposals as necessary, including management, executive summary and other non-technical sections; developing and managing compliance matrices for all submissions; leading preparation for bi-weekly Resource Development Unit meetings with ND, Department leads; other responsibilities as required.

Key Objectives of the Position:

  • Prepare and manage capture activities for all opportunities
  • Manage Business Development Managers development and Implementation of Capture Plans; development of Bid Implementation Plans, and execution of Live bids
  • Lead all live bid, assuring seamless collaboration with SOs, NO partners (PDQA, Finance, P&C etc.).
  • Lead partnering for all opportunities, in close collaboration PDQA, Finance, SOs.
  • Knowledge management, including but not limited to: preparation/update of cape statements; critical review of pipeline data accuracy;

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field including, but not limited to: development studies, economics, MBA, rural & urban planning, or any relevant degree useful in disaster responses and sustainable development programming.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Impeccable written and spoken English, with ability to copy edit documents quickly and accurately.
  • Two years prior Experience with business development, including advance preparation for bids (Capture) and live bid management in World Vision context.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and high EQ
  • Experience implementing development programs in one or more of WVB’s core sectors (health, livelihoods, education).
  • Skills in monitoring and development of log-frames.
  • Sense of humor and ability to thrive in fast pace, stressful situations.
  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation.
  • Understanding of different bi-lateral, multi-lateral, institutional and private foundational donor policies, priorities and proposal processes.
  • Broad understanding of principled humanitarian action, emergency relief, and resilience objectives and sectors such as shelter and settlements, WASH, food security and livelihoods, humanitarian protection, or health and nutrition.
  • Proven capacity building, facilitation and training skills.
  • Decision making and conflict resolution skills.

Experience:

  • (The experience gained - including environment, timeframe and context)
  • Four years prior professional experience in International Development or related field.
  • Two years prior experience with FCDO, DFAT, EU and/or other major donor proposal development and/or project implementation
  • Experience in working with a cross-cultural environment – preferably in South Asian context.

Work Environment:

  • Must be willing and able to travel nationally up to 12 weeks per annum.
  • Will provide support, coaching and mentoring to Department /Unit Heads and ensure a culture of collaboration and communication is maintained.
