Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in Mali (Bamako) under the Mission Support Division- Interim Support Service G5 Sahel. The Logistics Officer will report to the Liaison Officer of the G5 Sahel Interim Support Services. About MINUSMA / G5 Sahel:

The Security Council in its Resolutions 2531 (2020) and 2584 (2021) requested MINUSMA to provide logistics support to the G5-Sahel Joint Force (FC-G5S) through a Technical Agreement (TA) including delivery of life support consumables to FC-G5S battalions in their areas of operations across all five countries (Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania and Niger). G5 Sahel is an intergovernmental military cooperation framework set up to provide a regional response to the growing threat of terrorism and organized crime in this sub-Saharan region.

Responsibilities Within delegated authority and under overall guidance of the Chief Interim Support Service and direct supervision of the Liaison Officer, the Logistics Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

•Contributes to the development, preparation, coordination and monitoring of the G5 Sahel support plans, including logistics forecasting, supply schedules, priorities or requirements, and resolution of urgent operational needs; •Develop a Standard of operations to govern all logistical support provided to G5 Sahel as per TA; •Assists in the development of policy and procedures for logistics support to the entire area of operations of the Joint Force; •Coordinates the monitoring of the status of critical life support consumables including their transport and delivery to all designated locations; •Drafts and coordinates logistic plans and other correspondence supporting the implementation of logistics operations; •Maintain liaison with the Contracts Management to ensure a coordinated approach; •Coordinate the work of all Logistic Assistants to provide necessary support; •Maintains database to monitor the execution of requests vis-à-vis FC-G5S demand plans and generates KPI reports;

Education High school or equivalent diploma is required. Recognized technical or vocational certificate in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, is a requirement. The minimum years of relevant experience are reduced to five (5) years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree.

Work Experience Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional experience in planning, coordinating, and managing multi-functional supply chain and logistics support operations is required. Experience in drafting logistics reports, developing logistical plans, policies and SOPs is required; Experience in providing logistics and supply chain support services in a complex, volatile, conflict or post-conflict environment is desirable. Experience in working coordinating military activities will be an advantage.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required; Knowledge of French is desirable.
