The logistics coordinator is responsible for securing housing for new refugee arrivals, coordinating in-kind donations and procurement, and some community outreach. The coordinator is part of the resettlement team but works across all programs to support the resettlement experience by recruiting and managing an effective team and pursuing new community partnerships. The program coordinator plans and implements housing and logistics-related activities, supervises staff and volunteers, ensures program goals are met, and satisfies compliance and reporting responsibilities for the assigned portfolio.

CORE RESPONSIBILITES:

New Arrival Housing Coordination

- Research and secure appropriate and affordable housing for refugees prior to their arrival in the U.S. in accordance with IRC housing requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for rental management companies and related partner organizations. - Manage housing set-up for refugees, including procurement of furniture and household goods, delivery and set up coordination, utility set-up and required safety inspections. - Cultivate and manage partnerships with community organizations and individual volunteers to support housing set-ups. - Maintain an inventory in limited on-site and off-site storage: plan and place purchase orders, researching vendors for best values and maintaining documentation of procurement. - Work in coordination with the resettlement team for scheduling and attending lease signing appointments, submitting work order requests, conducting home visits, and other tasks as needed and assigned.

In-Kind Donation Management and Procurement

- Streamline the collection of in-kind goods and distribution, in collaboration with the direct service team and to meet specific program requirements and targets. - Maintain a database of received in-kind goods and issue tax-receipts when requested. - Manage the on-site resettlement shop and storage to meet the changing needs of clients and IRC programs.

Supervision, Outreach and Other

- Represent IRC at local meetings, seminars, forums, and other community outreach opportunities. - Conduct outreach, networking activities, and other advertising to recruit and educate potential donors, volunteers and partners. - Coordinate administrative functions and maintenance for IRC vehicles. - Manage a team of staff, volunteers, and interns supporting housing and logistics activities - Assist with other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred. - Minimum two years of experience implementing domestic refugee resettlement or related programs. - Experience supervising, supporting, and training staff, interns and volunteers preferred - Experience in program management and responsibility for budget management preferred - Demonstrated ability and interest to cultivate partnerships with community organizations to meet mutual goals. - Demonstrated ability to manage complex logistics involving multiple stakeholders within a limited timeframe. - Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC’s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality. Ability to lead in a way that recognizes that IRC’s work is best accomplished through the true collaboration of individuals from many cultures with a great variety of skills and perspectives. - Strong self-starter and initiative: demonstrated ability to lead new projects and develop new partnerships on behalf of the organization. - Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills. - Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Social media or website management experience a plus. - Strong computer skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based databases and applications required. Experience with SalesForce a plus. - Fluency in English required. Fluency in a second language (Arabic, Burmese, Farsi, French, Nepali, Spanish, Swahili) a plus. - Ability to work some evening and weekend hours for special events and trainings. - Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout Baltimore service delivery area.

Working Environment:

- A combination of standard office environment and ‘field’ time in and around the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities. - Physical ability to safely lift and carry furniture and other household goods in support of furnishing new homes for IRC clients. - May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
