UNICEF Qamishli Field Office is operating in three governorates of Al Hassakeh, Ar Raqqa and Eastern rural of Deir-ez-Zor providing life-saving assistance for the most vulnerable population in cooperation with many of local & international NGOs. The huge number of incoming shipments and received supplies procurement applied extra burden on the Operations staff which required additional support to ease the workload and ensure timely and quality delivery of services.

How can you make a difference?

The Logistics Associate, provides a broad range of transactional, procedural and administrative tasks in support of the efficient supply, procurement and logistics of the country office, ensuring timely and efficient output that is in compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations, whilst demonstrating the capacity to research, adapt and evaluate irregular cases, and also to recommend improvements to process delivery and design. In order to implement well-defined standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities, the Logistics Associate main will work in the warehouses in order to implement well-defined standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities, the below tasks are expected to be carried out but not limited:

• Developing the transport planning for UNICEF supplies, planning and supervising on a day-to-day basis the Warehouse and Stock Management activities, ensuring compliance with UNICEF standards, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs),
• conduct warehouse and inventory management activities, maintain shipments docs & perform logistics transactions in VISION system for supplies received and dispatched to/from UNICEF WH in Qamishli.
• Conduct a low value procurement process at the hub level, and support in some tasks of the high value procurement that occur at the Country Office level.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• Completion of secondary school education is required, preferably supplemented by courses/certifications, technical or university courses related to supply chain, procurement or logistics, business administration, contract/commercial law, or another relevant technical field.
• Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible administrative and/or supply-related work experience (procurement, supply or logistics) is required. Familiarity with UNICEF, UN supply procedures and systems is an asset. Understanding of development and humanitarian work is an asset.
• Proficiency in English and fluency in local language of the duty station is required.
