**OVERVIEW** ------------ Post Number : HRM 183 Grade : G-3 Parent Sector : Bureau of Human Resources Management (HRM) Duty Station: Paris Job Family: Human Resources Type of contract : Fixed Term Duration of contract : 2 years Recruitment open to : Internal and external candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 02-MAY-2022 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- Under the overall authority of the Director, Bureau of Human Resources Management and of the Head of the Centre for Learning & Partnerships’ Development, and the direct supervision of the HR Officer (Learning), the Learning Assistant will provide support services in a range of tasks that contribute to the timely and effective accomplishment of the development, implementation and reporting of learning projects and activities, and to the administration of the Internship Programme. In particular, the incumbent will do the following: ***Learning & Development*** - Assist in the organization of training sessions and other online and in-person learning & development activities, including arranging facilities and equipment, assembling documents for participants, following-up on invitations, and maintaining and updating participant lists. - Support the organization and set-up of meetings and learning events through providing administrative and logistical support, including using a learning management system, and online collaboration, meeting and participant-engagement tools. - Contribute to the development and testing of learning & development resources, and the drafting of regular communication materials regarding learning opportunities. - Draft correspondence to respond to standard enquiries from learners and managers, and assist with relevant follow-up actions. - Provide administrative and logistical assistance to the Language Programme, including with the registration process for learners; assignment of placement tests and coordination with language teachers. ***Internship Programme*** - Provide assistance to the workflow for managing internship applications and the creation of contracts. - Assist in the organization and delivery of regular themed talks and induction sessions for interns. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) Professionalism (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- ***Education*** - Completed secondary, technical or vocational education. ***Work Experience*** - A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in administration, learning and development, recruitment and selection, particularly in assisting in the delivery of learning & development programmes (either online or in-person), or a related field. ***Skills & Competencies*** - Organizational skills, demonstrated through an ability to prioritise and plan activities, and to coordinate with colleagues as required. - Ability to communicate (written and oral) with various stakeholders, within and outside the organization and through various channels. - Attention to detail, including when working to tight deadlines and/or with a range of data and information sources. - Ability to take initiative, and an understanding of when to liaise with other colleagues before taking action. - Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated through an ability to assist with the organization and logistics of learning events (in-person and/or online events). - Discretion, integrity and an irreproachable respect for confidentiality. - Strong IT skills, including with proficiency in the use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). ***Languages*** - Excellent knowledge of English or French and a good knowledge of the other language. **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- ***Work Experience*** - Experience in an international environment. ***Skills & Competencies*** - Experience of administering learning and development activities via a learning management system, in particular Cornerstone OnDemand. - Experience of developing materials in authoring software such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, and/or developing video and audio materials. - Experience of administering an internship programme or other recruitment programme. - Ability to work in a team in a multicultural environment. ***Languages*** - Knowledge of another official language of UNESCO (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish). **BENEFITS AND ENTITLEMENTS** ----------------------------- UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, pension plan etc. For more information in benefits and entitlements, please consult [ICSC website.](https://icsc.un.org/) **SELECTION AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS** ------------------------------------- Please note that all candidates must complete an on-line application and provide complete and accurate information.
