The Position:

The purpose of this post is to support PDB’s global knowledge management and communication efforts, both within the organization and externally. The incumbent will develop and produce innovative multi-channel content to increase the visibility of the Branch’s work on population data, with a particular focus on geospatial population data. S/He will be the Branch’s liaison with the Media and Communications Branch and support the development of autonomous content for the Branch.

You will report directly to the Lead, GRID3 Project and the Branch Chief.

Job Purpose:

The post provides the Population and Development Branch with critical knowledge management support. S/he will support the development of the branch’s overall strategy for knowledge management and media-related outreach for its work on census, the Georeferenced Infrastructure and Demographic Data for Development (GRID3) project and Civil Registration and Vital Statistics.

Education:

Post-graduate University Degree in journalism, communication science, knowledge management or related field.

Knowledge and Experience:

Expertise in knowledge management, communications and social media is required.

5 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in leading and developing strategic approaches for all communications activities developing institutional communications plans

Proven experience in identifying and developing relationships with media partners, platforms and influencers that can contribute to the positioning of the branch

Proven organizational skills in complex, multi-national work environments adhering to key performance indicators

Excellent writing skills, and synthesizing research/policy reports for multiple audiences

Prior international work experience in knowledge management or media and communications
