Duties and Responsibilities Under the overall supervision of the Head of the United Nations Road Safety Fund Secretariat (UNRSF), the incumbent is responsible to support the programme of work of the UNRSF Secretariat. The UNRSF helps to strengthen road safety management capacity at the national and local levels, and unlock sustainable sources of domestic road safety financing in low and middle-income countries by mobilizing global financial and technical resources.

The Junior RBM Consultant is responsible to:

(a) Manage the call for proposals. Support and guide the preparations of project proposals by participating organizations or institutions. Assess or organize assessment of the project proposals and provide advice to the Steering Committee during the approval process.

(b) Liaise with the administrative agent to design a monitoring and evaluation and consolidated reporting result-based management system.

(c) Monitor and analyze the programme development and implementation and undertaking partnerships outreach to ensure synergies with other major international development cooperation partners.

(d) Prepare approval documents of projects, and arrange fund transfer to the implementing organizations/institutions.

(e) Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree (Master’s or Doctorate degree, or equivalent) in economics, business administration, law or related fields is required. A first-level degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience: At least 3 years progressively responsible professional experience in programme or project management, administration, or a related area is required.

Experience working with large projects portfolio is desirable. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
