Jr. ICT Infrastructure Technician
Result of Service - ICT Infrastructure equipment including LAN switches, servers, wireless access points mounted and connected - Structured LAN Cabling, wiring closets, fiber enclosures, patch panels, and racks installed - Physical access control door readers, video surveillance cameras, PIDS sensors mounted and connected - Technical documentation for assigned tasks/activities - Progress reports with time sheets indicating the fulfilment/progress of requested tasks/activities - Any other output and deliverables as requested by ESCWA

Duties and Responsibilities Under the overall guidance of the Chief, ICTS, and direct supervision by the Team Lead, Infrastructure Network and Security, the Jr. ICT Infrastructure Technician will perform the following tasks:
- Assist in installation, troubleshooting, and configuration of ICT infrastructure equipment including network switches, wireless access points, cabling, patch panels, racks etc.
- Assist in installation, troubleshooting, repair, and configuration of Access Control System, Video Surveillance System, Perimeter Intrusion Detection System, and other various security related systems
- Coordinate installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling and associated equipment that support voice and data network
- Coordinate installation of equipment such as raceways, trunks, and conduit
- Assist in routine inspections, testing and maintenance of ICT infrastructure equipment
- Assist Network Engineers, System Administrators and Helpdesk when necessary
Assist in creation and maintenance of network and datacenter diagrams and detailed site documentation
Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Certification/diploma in other supplemental academic qualifications, training in Telecommunications and Information Systems is desirable Experience: Minimum two (2) years' experience in supporting ICT infrastructure operations in an enterprise environment with hands-on technical experience in structured LAN cabling is required. Possess working knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wireless Network, TCP/IP Networks, CCTV System, and Access Control system. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official United Nations language is an added advantage.
