Result of Service Fulfilling the Agile manifesto in the ICTS applications development team by: - Implementing agile processes depending on each project requirement - Helping developers into following the agile best practices as part of their daily routines - Configuring and reporting agile KPIs and metrics - Continuously improving and optimizing processes - Estimating the future needs and being proactive for any blocking points that might occur - Understanding the projects requirements from the business side and advocating for the developers in their definition of "DONE" for their tasks - Helping different teams move into DevOps and guiding the processes - Reviewing project documentation and making sure everything is aligned with the requirement

Work Location Beirut

Expected duration A minimum of 6-months with possibility of extension depending on needs and funding availability.

Duties and Responsibilities Under the overall guidance of the Chief, ICTS, and direct supervision by the team leader, applications unit, the contractor will perform the following tasks: - Act as a key member of agile sprint team for sprint planning and backlog management of technical solution. Implement the major aspects of the sprints per the defined functionality for the site with attention to detail and support through the testing and deployment. - Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items - Administer Issue management tools such as Jira, Azure Devops... - Training, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices - Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements - Tracking project processes and deliverables - Ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes and removing impediments for the scrum team - Planning and organizing demos and product/system testing - Preparing and presenting status reports to stakeholders

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with minimum of two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in agile development environment.

Demonstrated history of working in planning, agile project management, and implementation of agile processes, Skills required: o Expertise in agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban (certification is a plus) o Knowledge of software standards and best practices o Project management (certification is a plus) o Excellent written and verbal communication skills o The ability to understand client needs and highlight the appropriate solutions o Technical understanding of software development lifecycle o Has experience with Jira and/or Azure DevOps o Having previous development experience is a plus o Having product management certification is a plus Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official United Nations language is an advantage.
