You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, communication engineering, information system engineering or related fields
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in IT with skills in high-volume technical tickets
- Experience in Hardware, Printers, Cabling, Windows environment, Azure and Office 365

JOB TITLE: IT Officer- Damascus (National) TEAM/PROGRAMME: Finance / IT LOCATION: Damascus GRADE: NAT 5 ROLE TYPE: Fixed Term – 1 years CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3 - the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The IT Officer is Member of IT/Finance Team who would be responsible for maintaining the IT Policy across Syria, coordinating and ensuring Damascus Offices is properly provided with all required IT equipment, internet networks, related infrastructure and systems. He/she is also responsible for end- user supports and IT capacity building of SCI Staff and volunteers using SCI IT systems and equipment.

The IT team is responsible to provide end-user support ensure the smooth operation of the organization. This includes supporting end-user, fields, SLAs and to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. The team works collaboratively to support Syria staff by monitoring the system and with IT audit tools and to be aligned with Save the Children’s mission to deliver high-quality humanitarian and development programs.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Contineously assess and monitor the IT requirement for the Syria Country Office that include • infrastucure (hardware, software, applications, security equipments and software etc), coordinate and ensure in alignment of the same in Syria per organizational standards. • Advise staff of security breaches and/or changes in password or security status • Monitoring and maintain wired and wireless networks, desktop, Laptop, peripheral equipment e.g. printers, scanners, and projectors • Upgrade and update software devices to ensure minimum requirement/standard per SCI policy and procedures. • Provide Staff support and technical issue resolution via E-Mail, phone and other electronic medium. • Utilizing IT Support Ticketing System ( Jira ) for users Computer Problem • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary • Testing new technology • Assets all IT Equipment • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults • Knowledge and support conferences • Track and control equipment being added to the network by visiting sites and staff. • Regular field visits to support IT team in Aleppo and Tartous • Organize and facilitate IT capacity building initiatives for the staff and volunteer based on the needs assessment and putting a capacity building plan.
