ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

We are currently seeking to fill an internship position at WFP Tajikistan. The position will be based in Khorog Field Office. The Internship will be for an initial period of 2 months with possible extension.

PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

• Provide project management support to specific and defined programmes and projects • Follow data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained. • Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders • Support Field Office with NGO partner coordination, external communications and advocacy efforts • Preference for candidates with engineering and agronomy background

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in a undergraduate/graduate programme from a recognised university, have completed at least two years of the programme and attended classes in the past 12 months OR recently graduated from a undergraduate/graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the last 12 months of enrolment in the university;
  • Language: Fluency in English and Tajik languages is required. Russian is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point);

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The duration of the internship is minimum 2 months with possible extension.
  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment.
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
  • Depending on the duty station of assignment, WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
  • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
