Org. Setting and Reporting This full-time internship is for a duration of 3 months within the period of 1 September to 1 December 2021. Completed online application (Cover Note and Personal History Profile) is required. The internship is located in the Economic Cooperation and Trade Division, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe based in Geneva.

Responsibilities The intern is expected to contribute to the work of the Trade Facilitation section as follows,

Under the supervision of the Project Manager of the UNECE project on “Advancing Transparency and Traceability of Sustainable Value Chains in the Garment and Footwear Industry”, the trainee will:

a) Support the team with the regular update and maintenance of the database of expert for communication purposes; b)Undertake research in the field of traceability and transparency for sustainable value chains in garment and footwear, and other ongoing initiatives in that field; c)Compile the pledges submitted by industry actors as part of the UNECE Sustainability Pledge / Call to Action and support the team with the processing of the requests received at [email protected]; d)Contribute to the production of communication products (e.g. media cards, flyers, social media posts, newsletter) to showcase about project progress during outreach events; e)Support the team with the preparation of outreach and capacity-building activities under the project and informal meeting reports; f)Contribute to the project’s website development by making proposals on how to improve its user-friendliness and content, in cooperation with the project team.

Education For this internship, studies in communication in relation to the garment and footwear industry or equivalent are required.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Russian and/or French is an asset.
