Intensive Case Management Intern
SCOPE OF WORK: The primary role of the ICM Intern is to provide comprehensive, culturally appropriate client-centered case management services for program participants, including completing assessments, developing service plans, educating about community services and resources, and helping problem solve barriers to assist clients with reaching self-sufficiency in areas of vulnerability. This position is also responsible for assisting with administrative tasks including data collection and case file quality assurance.
- Conduct weekly communication with 2-4 ICM clients - Use culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate communication with clients - Connect clients to community resources and services, including medical providers - Assist clients in completing applications for public benefits and financial assistance programs - Document all client communication and services in appropriate databases - Complete assessments and develop service plans with clients - Coordinate with ICM case workers and other direct services teams within IRC - Conduct quality assurance practices on existing client case files to ensure compliance with federal grant guidelines
- Gain basic case management skills - Become comfortable utilizing interpretation services for client contact - Gain understanding of local resources and services available for vulnerable populations - Become proficient in conducting assessments and developing service plans with clients
- Field of study in social work, psychology, human services, or similar field - Minimum of one year volunteer, intern, or work experience in human services - Knowledge of local community services and resources - Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively - Fluency in English required. Language abilities in common refugee languages preferred. - Possess driver’s license with current car insurance - Ability to obtain Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card - Proof of Covid19 vaccination
