You have:
- Professional qualification in Business, International Development, Finance/Accounting or similar
- University degree in international development, business administration, finance and/or minimum 4 years’ experience working in related roles
- Experience managing grants, contracts & sub agreements with knowledge of major funders’ guidelines (e.g. USAID, ECHO, DFID, CIDA, SIDA etc.) is preferable
- Relevant experience managing donor funded projects with International NGO’s particularly those addressing human/children’s rights and those applying partnership approaches
- Strong analytical skills, computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must
- Ability to work well with a team and establish relationships with other teams/offices
- Cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Highly developed interpersonal and English communication skills including influencing and negotiation
- Excellent time management and planning capacity
ROLE PURPOSE:
Institutional Key Account Specialist will be supporting KAM that represents an organizational shift rather than a fundraising tactic for short-term gain. Whereas traditional fundraising or account management treats every donors/client’s relationship approximately the same, key account management reorganizes the business’s teams and culture to develop different approaches to their biggest donors/clients across the organization. Therefore, Institutional Key Account Specialist have a greater responsibility to support KAM for both the donors/clients and the donors/clients’ interactions with other employees and departments to ensure a greater lifetime value for their donors/clients.
The Institutional Key Account Specialist is responsible for assisting KAM to work on the most important donor/client accounts within Save the Children (STC). They will lead administration work, point of contact for all partnership work, and support the KAM for successful long-lasting member country relations.
The Institutional Key Account Specialist essential functions:
- Responsible in the strengthening the relations with donors and as the resource person for donor compliance.
- Support the co-creation opportunities with internal SC IDN, potential donors, partners and Account Manager
- Managing AMS system, tracker, database, dashboard, KPI and meetings
- Manage, coordinate, and advance partnership
- Responsible with the identification and qualifications of opportunities
- Implement donor stewardship program
- Support the Award Management Function
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Lead and coordinate the proposal development process for all funding opportunities with Technical Advisors including MEAL, Operations (for field team inputs, logistics requirements, costings, etc.), Security, Awards Management, Finance, and HR (for staffing requirements).
- Ensure that all appropriate donor and SC resources, templates, and tools are available to relevant staff, as well as a clear understanding of donor requirements.
- Produce proposal development schedules and track timelines, ensuring and facilitating coordination amongst teams (i.e. Technical Advisors, MEAL, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, HR).
- Strengthen SC capabilities to facilitate effective in-person or online proposal design workshops and undertake design workshop facilitation when called on to do so, including developing work plans and lessons learned.
- Draft general sections of the proposals that are standard inputs - such as capability statements, country context, and programme experience, while drawing on the expertise of technical advisors, MEAL, Operations, Finance, and HR.
- Support the Finance team, PDQ and TE, Operations, Supply Chain, and other necessary stakeholders to develop proposal budget.
- Conduct general review of proposal packages at every stage, ensuring that proposal documents are coherent, fully meets donor requirement & guidelines and are of good quality.
- Develop a complete understanding of donors/clients’ needs and establish a timeline of performance, which include stewarding the donors/clients and to anticipate changes and required improvements.
- Lead in coordinating and reflecting response to comments, queries, additional information etc. requested by member and/or donor, include resolve donor’s issues and complaints.
- Negotiate contracts with the donors/clients and/or through respective SC Members
- Strategic planning to improve donors/clients and SC Members results
- Regularly update the New Business Development tracker, dashboard, and Awards Management System with the Awards team,
- Provide inputs/intel on opportunities and potential donors to determine competitiveness and capacity to pursue (i.e prepare the guides for go/no go decision, due diligence/vetting process)
- Collaborate and work across department to establish effective project management and communication to donors/clients and SC Members to ensure the highest quality of materials are being produced and all donors/clients’ needs are met as well as to maximize revenue by up- selling or cross-selling.
- Support the planning and presenting reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members, stakeholders, and possible use in future case studies
- Expand relationships with SC Members, identify and cultivate new donors/clients to bringing in new revenue
