Result of Service The incumbent will work under the RCO Strategic Planner/ Team Leader’s overall guidance in the implementation of the Global as well as the UNCT/UNCG communications strategies. First reporting officer will be the RCO Strategic Planner/ Team Leader.

Video production services will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Conceptualization and scripting of video content
  • Pre-production planning, including location scouting and equipment preparation
  • Video filming, including lighting and sound production
  • Post-production editing, including audio mixing, color grading, and animation
  • Final delivery of the video in a format suitable for web and broadcast distribution

    Duties and Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Individual Contractor will be as follows:

  • Conceptualizing and developing: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing creative ideas for video content on SDGs, UNSDCF outcomes, normative priorities, partnerships and implementation in the country and on selected UN days and observances, taking into account the UN's visual identity guidelines and brand standards.

  • Planning and coordinating video shoots: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for planning and coordinating video shoots, including location scouting and equipment setup.
  • Capturing high-quality footage: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for capturing high-quality footage and sound during video shoots.
  • Editing footage: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for editing footage to create engaging and informative video content.
  • Incorporating music, sound effects, and graphics: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for incorporating music, sound effects, and graphics into the final video content as needed.
  • Adhering to UN's visual identity guidelines: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for ensuring that all videos adhere to UN's visual identity guidelines and brand standards.
  • Collaborating with the RCO and UNIC: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for collaborating with the RCO and UNIC to ensure that all content is accurate and meets expectations.
  • Providing final video files: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for providing final video files in the required format(s) for use by the RCO, UNIC and other UN agencies in Sri Lanka.
  • Meeting deadlines: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard.

Communicating with the RCO and UNIC: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for communicating with the RCO, UNIC and keeping them updated on the progress of individual projects. Incorporating changes: The Individual Contractor will be responsible for incorporating any changes that may be needed, taking into account feedback from the RCO and UNIC.

Qualifications/special skills A Bachelor Degree in a relevant subject is required. A major either in graphic design or in Journalism, International Relations, Economics, Political Science or equivalent discipline is desirable.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in video production
  • A strong portfolio with examples of minimum 5 videos showcasing previous video production work and editing skills
  • Experience with motion graphics, animation and special effects

    Languages Fluency in English and Sinhala/Tamil is required.
