Result of Service Under the supervision of the Programme Officer, the individual contractor will proofread to a high standard the materials of the Darknet Cybercrime Threats to Southeast Asia Report module provided. This will include the following tasks: A. Review/consult the original document of the Darknet Cybercrime Threats to Southeast Asia Report and other UNODC documents in English as reference to identify UNODC’s standard of technical language. B. Respond to the doubts or comments of the translator in relation to terminology and technical language. C. Provide a reviewed document of the Darknet Cybercrime Threats to Southeast Asia Report materials with all the necessary changes and/or suggestions of change to ensure that materials meet UNODC’s standards in technical language.

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) provides technical assistance related to combating terrorism, organized crime, corruption and drugs to requesting Member States. This assistance also supports States strengthening criminal justice and health systems and to ratify and successfully implement international conventions and protocols, in compliance with the rule of law and human rights.

The Cybercrime and Anti-Money Laundering Section assists the Member States to prevent and combat cybercrime and is developing materials and tools for Member States to advance their knowledge on current threats occurring by means of information and communication technologies. In this context, the Section has developed original material which will be available

The individual contractor will proofread the UNODC Darknet Cybercrime Threats to Southeast Asia Report in Vietnamese with a view to ensure that the translation matches with the technical language requirements of UNODC materials in the field of cybercrime and money laundering.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in law, international relations, business administration, finance, politics, computer science and/or any related field to cybercrime is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience: At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in developing, editing or reviewing materials related to crime prevention or criminal justice in Vietnamese is required. Working experience related to cybercrime or money laundering is desirable. Experience working with international organizations is desirable. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English and Vietnamese is required. Knowledge of another United Nations working language is an advantage.
