To enable UNICEF to deliver programmatic results for children, the organization needs to maximize income potential from the Private Sector. Unlocking the full potential of digital is key to realizing growth of Individuals fundraising in the region.

UNICEF seeks an individual contractor to cover a maternity leave in the Digital Fundraising Team, Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) in Geneva to provide support to the digital teams globally as a Knowledge Management focal point.

How can you make a difference?

The main purpose of this assignment is to enable digital teams and staff in markets to adapt to the future of business in the digital world, developing the next generation of skills, and sharing knowledge and best practices. The key objective is to boost digital fundraising revenue and ROI by growing UNICEF digital fundraising skills and improving knowledge management.

The incumbent will help UNICEF accomplishing its objective by delivering the activities defined on the Digital Knowledge Management Strategy​ 2021-2022 to make sure the goals of the Digital Revenue Strategy are met within the agreed timeframe.

MAIN TASKS

  • Coordinate the activities planned under the Digital Knowledge Management Strategy​, 2022
  • Project Manage the 2022 capacity building activities, such as the Special program for Digital Leadership, the Digital Marketing Training Program and the Data Driven Decision-Making Program
  • Coordinate and deliver monthly sessions for the Inspire Talks
  • Grow our Community of Practice for Digital Fundraising (Yammer)

  • Project Manage the Resource Centres of knowledge & sharing on digital fundraising areas

  • Conduct onboardings to new staff members through the Induction Plan for new recruits
  • Conduct onboardings to new vendors through the Induction Plan for vendors
  • Any other additional request on capacity building and Knowledge Management

DELIVERABLES

Special program for Digital Leadership

  • Status updates for Project Plan
  • Raise issues in a timely manner to deliver against planned milestones
  • Coordinate with external vendors to meet the agreed deliverables and timelines
  • Alignment with the Digital Revenue Strategy and global digital fundraising goals

  • Regular consultations with key stakeholders for programs

  • Collect feedback and implement program improvements
  • Manage budgets

Digital Marketing Training Program & Data Driven Decision Making Program

  • Define with the Digital Manager all target participants to the program
  • Manage the programs to make sure all milestones are achieved
  • Coordinate with external vendors to meet the agreed deliverables
  • Align with the Digital Revenue Strategy and global digital fundraising goals

  • Regular consultations with key stakeholders for programs

  • Collect feedback and implement program improvements
  • Manage budgets

Inspire Talks

  • Align with the Digital Revenue Strategy and global digital fundraising goals
  • Coordinate Inspire Talks to make sure talks are delivered successfully
  • Coordinate external speakers and calendar
  • Coordinate internal hosts and briefings

  • Liaise with the PRIME team within PFP to access resources for support

  • Collect feedback from participants
  • Define a strategy to make sure all learnings are effectively shared and used within UNICEF

Community of Practice for Digital Fundraising (Yammer)

  • Promote the use of our Digital Fundraising Community of Practice
  • Follow content plan monthly and liaise with publishers to make sure all posts are done
  • Create monthly dashboard and follow up on KPIs
  • Liaise with other teams to follow up on performance (Yammer coordination, PSFP KM…)

  • Align with the Digital Revenue Strategy and global digital fundraising goals

  • Collect feedback and implement improvements

Resource Centres of knowledge & sharing on digital fundraising areas

  • Coordinate with Specialists to keep our Resource Centres updated and relevant
  • Deliver on planned milestones
  • Set biweekly meetings with all focal points to review performance and agree on improvements
  • Support other Individual Giving teams developing their own Resource Centres
  • Support teams to conduct all procurement processes to hire vendors for content creation

  • Make sure all new contents are properly shared in Yammer

  • Create monthly dashboard and follow up on KPIs
  • Align with the Digital Revenue Strategy and global digital fundraising goals
  • Manage budgets

Induction Plan for new recruits

  • Create onboarding plans and agendas for new recruits in the Digital Fundraising team
  • Keep our Induction Plan in Agora updated quarterly
  • Liaise internally with all required stakeholders for content update and improvement

  • Liaise with the Agora and PRIME team for technical improvements

Induction Plan for vendors

  • Support onboarding plans for new agencies joining the Digital Fundraising team
  • Keep our Induction Plan for vendors in Agora updated quarterly

  • Create with the assigned digital specialist all learning materials per each technical area of expertise

  • Liaise internally with all required stakeholders for content update and improvement
  • Liaise with the Agora and Prime team for technical improvements

Any other additional request on capacity building and Knowledge Management

  • Support other teams on KM related issues (Individual Giving Unit, other Knowledge Management colleagues, PRIME team)
  • Cover any request from managers for additional events on training (e.g., Fundraising Directors Meeting)
  • Support digital specialists with their training needs for markets

ESTIMATED DURATION OF THE CONTRACT AND PROPOSAL

6 months, full-time, tentatively starting in Feb 2022.

Fund Raising Manager (Digital), Digital Fundraising Team, Individual Giving Unit, PSFP, PFP.

WORKPLACE

Home-based, with 50% of the working time following Geneva office working hours.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

A first level university degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Fundraising, or other relevant technical areas is required. An advanced university degree in a relevant technical area is desirable.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in Knowledge Management, Capacity Building, or Communication is required. Experience in digital fundraising and marketing areas is high desirable.

It would be an advantage if the person had gained the above experience in both agency and charity environments.

Languages****:

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language an asset.
