To develop and execute the Ethics Office’s communication plan for increased global ethical awareness through the production of multimedia assets, maintaining website and social media presence of the Ethics Office in UNICEF, creating communications for campaigns such as Ethics Month, supporting training activities by designing interactive materials and developing materials for internal/external website.

How can you make a difference?

  1. Develop the Ethics Office communication plan;
  2. Support and implement 2021 Ethics communications plan through existing internal tools (internal website, Global Broadcast Messages, 5 Questions, Yammer) etc. and new tools (Ethics Nuggets, Tea with the Ethics Director, etc.), subject to consultation;
  3. Increase Ethics Office social media presence internally with website updates, Yammer posts and other engaging activities; monitor and respond to Ethics Office followers in dynamic and interactive ways while cultivating meaningful engagement;
  4. Take charge of 2021 Ethics communications campaign based on evolving UNICEF-internal communications plan; which needs to be coordinated and tied in, on an ongoing basis, with other internal communications initiatives by the Office of the Executive Director (OED), Division of Communications (DOC), Division of Human Resources (DHR), the Global Staff Association (GSA) and efforts at the Regional and Country Office level;
  5. Plan for Ethics Month 2021 and create new Ethics Month webpage, design campaign materials for month-long activities and monitor interaction of COs, ROs and HQ through communication with EDFs and HR Business Partners (HRBPs).
  6. Develop multimedia assets to support training and outreach in Headquarters, Regional and Country Offices and Ethics Dialogue Facilitators (EDF) training;
  7. Manage internal/external websites of the Ethics Office – Ethics Office, EDF website, Ethics Panel of the United Nations (EPUN) webpage etc. to improve/increase the global presence of the Ethics Office.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • High School Education is required; Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Public Relations or related field is an advantage.
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience in communication & (digital) media
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong interpersonal and presentation skills are required. Fluency in other UNICEF languages (French, Arabic, Spanish) is an asset.
  • Able to adapt and work in a multicultural setting.
  • Additional consideration will be given for any past work experience with UNICEF or another UN agency

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
