Community Mobilizer

Duty station: Dnipro Key working relationships: Position Reports to: Primary Health Manager Position directly supervises: N/A Internal collaborations within IRC: Health Managers, Women Protection and Empowerment team, Child Protection team, Economic recovery and development team

Job Overview/Summary: The Community Mobilizer will be responsible for visiting communities for collecting data and information on health/protection, from displaced persons and other war affected communities in catchment area, providing responsive information and referring people with acute needs to further services. The Community Mobilizer will be based in Dnipro and with frequent trips to surrounding localities in Dnipro oblast.

Major Responsibilities:

Collect data and information through the individual interviews, key informants interviews, direct observation; Constantly update the service mapping in Dnipro; Refer people in need of additional services to the relevant service providers in accordance with safe referrals procedures and principles. Ensure follow-up of referred cases; Visit community of MMU catchment area and not only, and identify health/protection issues at community level and most pressing needs; Conduct awareness raising sessions and sensitize the populations on their rights and access to services within catchment areas of MMU; Identify themes requiring the organization of awareness raising activities; Conduct other health needs assessment as necessary; Provide weekly reports on the progress of outreach activities.

Requirements: Language: Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, some command of English Previous experience in data collection, interviews, provision of information Experience facilitating group activities, trainings and workshops and mentoring others Excellent communication skills – can demonstrate empathy Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients/beneficiaries Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting High degree of flexibility and strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
