Result of Service DPPA is seeking graphic design support for the creation and design of a new set of publications and communications assets as part of its outreach and fundraising activities in 2022 by incorporating ideas and text provided by DPPA. - Developing preliminary and final drafts of publications and reports for DPPA’s Donor Relations team and other internal clients; - Designing communications material for specific meetings and events; - Creating a set of communications assets according to new branding guidelines; - Preparing and submitting artwork for final approval by DPPA and after final approval delivery of electronic files of artwork (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator etc.); - Providing the contract manager or designated UN employee with the print ready electronic files of each project upon completion for onward transmission to printing company by the contract manager

Expected duration 6 months, with the possibility of extension for another 3 months

Duties and Responsibilities The Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) is the lead UN office for preventive diplomacy, mediation and electoral assistance, called upon to provide political analysis to the Secretary-General and to assist Member States in addressing social tensions, crises and conflicts. The Department seeks to improve its work regarding the design of both its internal and external-facing information products. The objective is to continue to develop a strong and coherent visual identity for the Department, create a robust set of communications assets for outreach purposes and continue the regular production of reports and other materials for DPPA’s donor community and the UN membership at large. Main counterparts will be DPPA Donor Relations and Communications teams for the supervision and approval of the work.

Qualifications/special skills Licenses & Certificates: The UN utilizes primarily MS Windows based programs with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat etc.). Files need to be submitted so that they are compatible with these packages. Other non-compatible file formats will not be accepted Competency: Designing and developing print, web and social media ready content Academic Qualifications: An associate degree in arts, design or related field Experience: Experience in layout and design of high-quality reports, public documents and other communications material, graphs and charts, infographics. Illustration skills an asset Language: English
