The Grants and Partnership Manager position will lead the development and implementation of the partnership strategy that contributes to programme sustainability and high quality programmes. Leads implementation of the core process of partnership management, supports partners in their project proposal development, contracting with NRC and implementation – as a facilitator between NRC Country Office staff and partner staff.

Moreover, the position will assist the Head of Programme in development of the funding strategy to institutional donors, grants preparation, administration and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. The Partnerships and Grants Manager will help to identify and map potential partners in Poland
  2. Contribute to the identification, design, formulation and negotiation of new projects and programmes and draft concept notes and project briefs for discussion with partners.
  3. Coordinate with relevant Programme, M&E, Support, and Finance teams on the technical and financial requirements, and negotiate proposals to conclude new project agreements.
  4. Draft agreements and/or contractual documents with inputs from relevant NRC functions (e.g. finance, logistics, human resources, etc.) required for the signature and implementation of new projects.
  5. Support the Head of Programme and other relevant staff in organising meetings and engagements with relevant local actors, and during meetings, follow-ups, and negotiations with partners in order to achieve the most cost-effective and mutually beneficial terms for NRC engagement with prospective partners.
  6. Build a network of key partners and stakeholders, keeping abreast of evolving trends (social, economic, and political), including the application of innovation to partnership and project development.
  7. Proactively solve conflicts and address issues and misunderstandings that could occur between NRC and various partners.
  8. Advise Head of Programme on risks related to partners and support in developing and implementing relevant mitigation measures.

Knowledge and experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience of grants management and programmatic implementation in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Good skills and experience in all aspects of programme cycle management - design and development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in reviewing financial reports and supporting documents
  • Experience in partner monitoring and conducting spot-checks
  • Experience in mainstreaming protection concepts within a humanitarian operation
  • Ability to coordinate tasks and work processes and work with short deadlines
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Experience with facilitating and leading internal organisational processes
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Fluency in Polish – a distinct advantage

  • Duty Station – Warsaw, Poland with possible flexibility
  • Approximately 20% travel
  • Contract length:12 months (national contract, with additional benefits for those moving from abroad)
  • Salary: Grade 9 in NRC's salary scale. NRC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
