Context

NRC External relations (Exrel) is a global team responsible for engaging with private individuals and organization to build awareness of NRCs work and raise resources for NRC, especially unearmarked funds. To do this Exrel has four focus areas; Public Engagement who give a global public voice to NRC and the people we serve; Fundraising who grow our income of unearmarked funding from private individuals; Donor Management who ensure our income from regular donors; Corporate who get grants and pro bono resources from private organizations and high net worth individuals. In addition, there is a Governance function that crosses all these functions focused on legal, financial, human resource and other ‘fit for purpose’ activities.

What you will do

The global fundraising specialist adviser grows NRC’s unearmarked funding by recruiting regular donors and soliciting single donations from private individuals globally and across multiple channels. The specialist adviser fundraising contributes to build and execute strategies to find new ways of fundraising from private individuals that enable faster ROIs, more resilience to fundraising income and advise on how to improve existing fundraising ROIs. The specialist adviser works across geographies and channels.

Some of your day-to-day tasks will include;

  • Make strategic decisions on donor recruitment and digital fundraising to reach KPIs on income and digital donor recruitment in appointed fundraising market(s).
  • Responsible for budget allocation and expense control related to digital advertising and donor recruitment in appointed fundraising market(s) and channels.
  • Responsible for reaching targets on donor recruitment at required donor quality as defined in cooperation with Donor management.
  • Contribute to develop donor centric journeys, adapt, and implement in daily fundraising work. Optimize, test, and evaluate to improve fundraising and learning across markets.
  • Daily responsible for creating, monitor and optimize digital ads and communication products to reach targets on donations and regular donors in appointed fundraising market(s) and channels
  • Responsible for supporting the fundraising team on systems, segmentation, data insight and analysis e.g., Salesforce, tableau and Mailchimp to ensure we are data- and ROI driven.
  • Keep close dialogue with the digital team in public engagement section and provide support on operating channels when needed. (Gap filling)
  • Participate in pool of social media ads monitoring staff on weekends and holidays.
  • Responsible for steering performance of donor recruitment through a set of mechanisms, e.g., market and supplier assessments, contracts, training, monitor results and use of data/ insight.

What you will bring

  • Higher education, minimum bachelor's degree level, from marketing, sales, or other relevant areas.
  • Business mindset and with competence in database marketing and affinity with relevant tools and systems (e.g., MailChimp, Salesforce).
  • Understanding and experience with A/B testing, data, and analytics.
  • Experience with forecasting and business case development and with good presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience from fundraising on digital channels, including social media.
  • Proven ability to produce results using Facebook fundraising and other digital advertising tools.
  • Proven ability to analyze ad results, web content performance and digital donor journeys.
  • Proven ability to connect content and performance in digital channels through writing ads, adjusting ads, optimization etc.
  • Documented experience in planning, writing, and adapting posts for Facebook, Twitter, and other social media channels.
  • Experience from and an interest in the humanitarian field.
  • Must able to communicate fluently in Norwegian and English, both written and verbal.
