You have:

  • Experience working in a marketing or fundraising context developing products and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal. A second language is advantageous.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 30% of the time internationally/domestically.

As the Global Director of Child Sponsorship Operations, you will coordinate the strategic direction, transformation and delivery of World Vision’s Child Sponsorship, end-to-end. Deliver quality, efficient and effective field operations and capabilities to deliver a delightful sponsor experience and impact for children.

With a growth mindset and proven track record of driving change, you will work with stakeholders to facilitate a cultural and organisational transformation to the sponsorship experience. By embracing challenges and acting as a trusted partner, you will enable innovation, experimentation and agility to flourish, leading to a growing and impactful World Vision Child Sponsorship.

In alignment with Sponsorship Governance, this role will oversee the simplification and implementation of the partnership policy, strategy and plans for Child Sponsorship, contributing to World Vision’s global strategy, Our Promise. Sponsorship Governance is managed by the Child Sponsorship Executive Oversight Group. It includes representatives from 2 x large Support Office CEOs/National Directors, Support Office International Programmes Group lead, 2 x Regional Office or Field Office leaders, 2 x ExL leaders, Senior Director Sponsorship.

Providing clear vision and direction, you will lead and inspire a lean high performing team of field and marketing colleagues with a culture that is aligned with our core values, mindsets, and behaviours and balances strategic alignment with agility and focus on execution.

This work will impact the lives of 14 million children (including 2.9 million children enrolled into the sponsorship programme), provide tangible impact and rich experiences for children and their sponsors, and energise and empower the World Vision staff, delivering c$1b annual revenue more effectively and efficiently.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Policy and Strategy

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Child Sponsorship Management Policy
  • Collaborate, develop and unite on a partnership wide strategy, roadmap and performance framework
  • Build cross organisation unity, commitment and momentum to the strategy, with a ‘one-team’ spirit
  • Monitor the raising and usage of sponsorship funding across the Partnership
  • Anticipate key trends and opportunities. Assess, share and coordinate the positioning of World Vision to benefit from these

Collaborative Leadership and Influence

  • Exemplary communication to build belief, provide inspiration and clear direction
  • Build cohesive, committed relationships that build a united approach and action on strategy and plans
  • Actively participate, collaborate and influence in Partnership forums
  • Address and prioritise risks and opportunities, managing trade-offs to maintain unity
  • Line-manage and build a lean high performing team, through performance management, coaching, Christian formation and a culture of accountability.
  • Identify, recruit and build talent and capabilities to progress in a fast paced and uncertain context

Innovation and Transformation

  • Help align all stakeholders with the Partnership wide Sponsorship Initiative, transforming the sponsorship-funded programming, and related systems, processes and sponsor experience.
  • Inspire locally led continuous end-to-end innovation and evolution; enhancing the programmatic approach to clarify the impact for children with sponsored children as primary beneficiaries, and delivering a product, proposition and experience to meet evolving sponsor needs.
  • Continuous business process re-engineering to optimise operations and increase efficiencies through the Sponsorship value chain.

Sponsorship Programming and Operations

  • Manage Sponsorship Business Operations in 49 Field Offices in close collaboration with Regional and Support Offices and Global Centre functions
  • Lead the development, adaptation, and implementation of end-to-end sponsorship standards, business processes, systems and risk management to ensure that child promises, and sponsor promises are met.
  • Provide oversight and coordinate organisation-wide processes to ensure that sponsor experience content and connections are delivered in a way that meets the quality and timeline expectations
  • Provide oversight and strategic leadership enabling the inclusion, impact and well-being of children registered for sponsorship within sponsorship funded programmes
  • Accountable for the design and implementation of Sponsorship-focused change management and capacity building end-to-end across Global, Regional, FOs and SOs
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to sponsorship

Marketing, Fundraising and Customer Experience

  • Drive continuous evolution of a compelling sponsorship product and experience to support growth
  • Co-create and deliver the agreed components of the sponsor experience, demonstrating impact and enabling connections to improve sponsor engagement, satisfaction and retention
  • Facilitate the partnership-wide transformation of the sponsor experience in collaboration and full alignment with the field transformation
  • Facilitate best practice sharing, documentation, testing and scaling across funding offices
  • Leverage technology to enable a more personalised, compelling and efficient digital-first experience
  • Facilitate powerful sponsorship content and features to support brand and fundraising

Sponsorship Operations Processes and Systems

  • Transform business processes and systems across the Sponsorship ‘supply chain’ to deliver sponsorship promises and experience to children and sponsors in a simple, timely and integrated way
  • Digitally transform Sponsorship end-to-end to drive efficiencies and improved experiences
  • Oversee sponsorship content and customer data management and privacy
  • Accountable for safety and privacy of children registered for sponsorship

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree level in International Development, Business/Marketing Management or similar. Master’s or post-graduate qualifications preferred.

If this position is filled in the United States, the typical salary range for this role is $173,450 to $230,000 USD. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience and geographic location.
