Job Title: Financial Data Analyst Consultant

Duration: 11 months

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The consultant will perform technical analysis, design, development and implementation of system tools to enhance and facilitate the publishing of WFP corporate reporting and external reporting, including external portals, corporate dashboards.

As part of the assignment the consultant will liaise with TEC division to enhance the existing databases in the different tools, including Business intelligence and HANA/Tableau, ensuring the consistency of the information made available to the data consumers.

The consultant will support Reporting Excellence, Digital forms reporting, Robotic Process Automations and new Line of Sight project under the supervision of the reporting line.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Design, develop, implement and test:
  • corporate portals and dashboards
  • new BO/Tableau tools for automatic data extraction
  • WSS forms reporting (data source and dashboards)
  • ad hoc automation (such as databases in Python, R, SQL)
  • data in other platforms (such as Palantir DOTS)
  1. Support adjustments and enhancements of existing corporate reports and dashboards, and related testing activities.
  2. Collect functional and technical requirements for existing and new corporate/ad hoc tools.
  3. Under the supervisor's guidance, collate and analyze data to prepare accurate and timely reports, to enable informed decision-making and consistency of information presented to senior management, operational needs, and external stakeholders.
  4. Develop infographics and visual reports illustrating resource management concepts and other topics to support the preparation of presentations or briefings for varied audiences.
  5. Develop a user guide and technical documentation for the finalized projects.
  6. Provide ad hoc support as required.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

  • Technical solutions discussed, developed and implemented.
  • Documentation provided through tools and guidelines.
  • Accurate and timely delivery of all tasks performed with organized, accurate and well documented records conforming to required and agreed format.
  • Responses to requests managed and/or coordinated efficiently.
  • Effective data visualization and infographic solutions adjusted for varied audiences.

Education:

University Degree or equivalent academic title. Certification and trainings in analytics, Business intelligence and HANA/Tableau are an asset.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of profesional experience in the following areas: data analytics, data engineering, data analysis, reporting, automation, Tableau, statistical tools. Working experience in organizations adopting SAP public sector (PSM).

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP HANA and Experience with data visualization and analytical reporting tools (Tableau, Business Objects)
  • Ability to review a variety of data, identify data discrepancies
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills including knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of WFP business processes (in particular finance and budget areas) and WFP's systems (SAP ERP, Digital forms) is an asset
  • Ability to work independently towards challenging targets and strict deadlines
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with customer units
  • Ability to successfully work in a multi-cultural and dynamic environment

Language:

Fluency in oral and written communication in English
