This is a UNV Community Volunteer contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV Community Volunteer contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 18 years old. Applicants must be local residents in the community of assignment.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of Technical Expert, Healthcare Waste Management****, the UN Community Volunteer will:

Fill in the duties for this assignment. Please note that tasks should reflect the community nature of this modality and not include tasks that would be better suited for a national UN Volunteer specialist.

  • Support to coordinate one hospital that is in their province/s
  • With the guidance of project manager, coordinate the project implementation in each hospital;
  • Facilitate the communication between project management team, experts, local partners and hospitals;
  • Support to collect the demand of training in their based hospital and coordinate to deliver the training courses;
  • Familiar with working environment in international organizations;
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Secondary education

Education - Additional Comments:

  • Secondary school education or equivalent;
    • Voluntary service, community engagement or work experience can be considered in lieu of any formal education;

  • 0-2 years of experiences
  • Working experience in health care waste management, medicine, environment, or other relevant field;
  • Familiar with designated hospital, local community and other local partners;
  • Familiar with working environment in international organizations;

  • Proactive and prompt in action.

Language skills:

  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • Nepalese(Mandatory), Level - Fluent

Area of expertise:

Water, sanitation and environmental engineering

Area of expertise details:

  • Working experience in health care waste management, medicine, environment, or other relevant field;
