Result of Service The consultant will:

- Provide support to the finalization of the reporting platform (final tests and review) - Provide trainings and individual assistance to the GTPI signatories on the use of the GTPI measurement methodology and on the GTPI reporting process - Support with promotion of GTPI measurement methodology, particularly among large accommodation companies - Develop template for the 2022 GTPI progress report, including for individual profiles of large companies - Analyse reporting data that was collected in course of the reporting period and draft of the 2022 GTPI progress report - Support One Planet/GTPI network in mainsteaming circiular solutions in the tourism sector.

Duties and Responsibilities The measurement and monitoring expert will support the GTPI coordination team with development and implementation of the GTPI reporting framework, including support of the GTPI signatories with use of the measurement guidance, more specifically, following activities will be part of the consultant’s deliverables: - Finalize development of the GTPI reporting platform (final tests and review of the reporting platform) in collaboration with the 10YFP Secretariat and in consultation with the GTPI Advisory Group; - Provide support through trainings, presentations and belateral online meetings to the different stakeholder groups of the GTPI signatories (accommodation, cruise lines, tour operators, supporting organizations, suppliers and destinations) on the use of the GTPI reporting platform; - Individual support to the GTPI signatories that are part of the category “accommodation providers” with use and internal implementation of the GTPI measurement guidance and two tools (individual follow ups and trainings with accommodation companies); - Development of a template for the GTPI annual report; the report will be presenting aggregaring and analysed data collected from different stakeholder groups of the GTPI signatories (accommodation, cruise lines, tour operators, supporting organizations, suppliers and destinations) as well as highlights of results of some individual companies (6-8 examples); - Analysis and aggregation of the reporting data collected through the GTPI reporting process. This information will be reflected on the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment website and will contribute to the One Planet STP annual reporting. The reporting exercise will also offer an opportunity to promote among the One Planet STP stakeholders circular tools developed within the framework of the network. The consultant will provide to the One Planet STP network and GTPI signatories a broader support on use of existing solutions offered by the Tourism Programme to mainstream circularity in tourism operations.

Qualifications/special skills - Master in one of the following areas: environmental sciences, sustainable development, international relations or relevant equivalent •At least 4 years of experience working with private companies (preferably tourism) or destinations and governments on topics of sustainable tourism and/or plastic pollution and/or measurement and monitoring •Good technical understanding of sustainable consumption and production (SCP) issues including circular economy patterns

•Experience working with UN organizations is an advantage

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and build relationships with key strategic partners
  • Partnerships Management – Experience working with and coordinating internal and external partners in order to effectively gather, harmonize and utilize information relevant to different projects and initiatives

    Languages Fluency in oral and written English is required
