Result of Service An overall strategic communications package which will enhance the specialized capacity for the Trust Fund in the areas of publicity, external relations, “corporate” Trust Fund messaging/internal communications, branding and for use in public information components for an external audience and for UN partners and field locations.

Specifically, produce the strategic communications and branding package for the Trust Fund in Support of Victims of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, including: - Producing Trust Fund logo. - Redesigning Trust Fund toolkit with annexes. - Producing Annual Report template. - Producing marketing materials (banner, power point template, one-page template, banner for a website). - Producing strategic communication and brand guidelines and graphic toolkit.

Duties and Responsibilities Trust Fund in Support of the Victims of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse supports United Nations and non-governmental organizations to implement projects that provide support to complainants, victims and children born as a result of sexual exploitation and abuse by United Nations staff members and related personnel. It has been established in 2016 and is managed by the Conduct and Discipline Service within the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC).

As the Trust Fund grows, the DMSPC is looking for a brand designer who will be responsible for developing a branding identity for the Trust Fund. The aim is to create unified and unique look that will allow public to easily recognize the Trust Fund and its work, increase visibility of the Trust Fund and create linkage for donors and organizations. The consultant will be responsible for creating a strategic communications package and comprehensive guidelines on how the Trust Fund is represented both internally and externally. The consultant will be responsible for developing visual elements such as logo, template of a report etc., along with guidelines on how those visuals should be used by Trust Fund on UN Conduct and Trust Fund websites, social media or in any future visibility materials e.g. posters, reports.

The branding should be modern and slick, while at the same time in line with the branding of the United Nations. The objective of the design package is to provide Conduct and Discipline Service (CDS) with tools allowing to maintain consistent look and feel of the Trust Fund.

The consultant will be located in the Conduct and Discipline Service of the Administrative Law Division (ALD) of the Human Resources Office (OHR), in DMPSC. The consultant will be responsible for the following:

  • Takes the lead in development of the overall strategic communication package, the Trust Fund branding, visual design, multimedia and graphic design work. Ensures brand identity is in line with the UN standards.
  • Manages the design process and provides at least three Trust Fund logos options, including color palette and typography.
  • Develops brand guidelines of the chosen logo.
  • Designs Trust Fund Toolkit with annexes (content is already available and will be provided by the CDS).
  • Designs Annual Report template.
  • Provides advice and expertise to managers on a range of visual design issues, methods and approaches.
  • Produces comprehensive graphic toolkit including post templates, cover image.
  • Drafts, organizes and prepares a diverse range of marketing materials such as banner, PowerPoint template, one-page template, banner/hero image for the website.
  • Liaises with CDS and Department Global Communications (DGC) teams to ensure the branding is in line with the UN standards.

    Qualifications/special skills Skills:

  • Good understanding of new and evolving technologies and digital platforms.
  • Knowledge of standard software packages, including MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Academic Qualifications: - Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Advertising or Design in the above fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience: - A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in developing overall communications and branding packages for use in multimedia settings such as print, websites, social media is required. - Proven experience in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, or Figma. - Proven experience of managing branding, graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and colour management.

Language: - Fluency in English is required.
