The assignment will be part of the Ethnic Affairs team, led by the Ethnic Affairs Advisor. The Ethnic Affairs team is part of the Cross-Cutting Unit, into the SRSG Office The main functions of the ethnic affairs team are: a) Political Advice on Ethnic issues b) External Engagement-Policy Advocacy c) Technical Advice Verification Unit (Security Guarantees and Reintegration) d) Reporting

Information management: Development of a database tool to systematize information on reintegration of former combat-ants of ethnic origin, which will be fed with the information from Regional Offices, stakeholders and open sources Development of a database tool to systematize security guarantees for former combatants of ethnic origin, leaders / authorities and ethnic communities, which will be fed with the infor-mation from Regional Offices, stakeholders and open sources Preparation of a database of main stakeholders, including institutions and civil society organi-zations Reporting: Preparation of weekly with relevant events related to reintegration and security guarantees, based on dailys reports from Regional Offices and information from stakeholders or open sources Systematization of monthly / biweekly reports for feedback to Regional Offices and identifica-tion of inputs for quaterly report Verification work: Supports the verification of the reintegration of former combatants of ethnic origin and their security guarantees, as well as of traditional leaders / authorities and ethnic communities. Supports the monitoring of the Comprehensive System of truth, justice, reparation and non-repetition in relation to ethnic issues Supports field offices in the implementation of the Ethnic Affairs Directive of the Verification Mission Supports engage with ethnic organizations / authorities, State bodies derived from the peace agreement, civil society and United Nations Agencies on issues related to the ethnic issues into mission's mandate. Prepares notes, and points of agreement and follow-up of various meetings that are developed by the Ethnic Affairs Team. Performs other related duties as required.

Strongly encourages applications from qualified applicants from ethnic peoples A minimum of 3 years of progressively experience at the national or international level in peace processes, conflict resolution or development, or in other relevant programs in the UN or in other international development organizations Experience working with ethnic groups and indigenous communities is desirable. Experience with the peace process in Colombia is desirable Excellent oral and written skills Excellent interpersonal skills; cultural and social sensitivity; ability to work in an inclusive and collaborative way with a variety of stakeholders, including ethnic organizations, members of the grassroots community, and authorities at various levels • Solid computer skills, including advanced management of various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) as well as email / internet; familiarity with database management and office technology equipment • Self-initiative and ability to work within tight deadlines

Bogotá is the capital of Colombia for which it has access to all services. The Office is centrally located in the northern part of the city and has multiple choices for nearby accommodations which is accessible and inclusive. Public transport is also largely available.
