IFC Treasury & Mobilization is a large and significant player in the international financial markets. The unit operates globally to deliver on IFC’s strategy to create markets and mobilize private capital for development. It manages over $100 billion in liquid assets, global market borrowings, and derivatives transactions, and is responsible for strengthening local-currency financing by arranging and executing local-currency and risk-management transactions for clients and raising third-party capital through innovative syndication and mobilization platforms.

IFC’s Treasury Client Solutions Department is a client facing transaction structuring and execution team that provides IFC’s clients with innovative fixed-income solutions with a focus on debt capital markets. The group has global responsibility for derivative transactions, structured products, local currency solutions, and debt capital markets initiatives. The team takes pride in contributing to many innovative transactions across the region that provide meaningful solutions to IFC’s clients.

The department is looking for a dynamic and highly motivated finance professional to join the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) team covering markets in the LAC region and supporting the regional derivative, structured finance, and local currency businesses. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of fixed-income professionals, contribute to IFC's strategic priorities and facilitate innovative transactions across a variety of structures, asset classes, sectors, and markets in the LAC region.

The position will be based in Washington, DC.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Contribute to day-to-day business delivery across CTC products, programs and markets by developing, structuring and facilitating execution of fixed income transactions for IFC’s clients as a member of local currency coverage and project teams.

• Analyze, assess, structure, and negotiate new transactions and in particular: special purpose structures, debt funds, securitizations, covered bonds and DPRs.

• Support the development of a strong pipeline of good quality investment opportunities for IFC in the LAC region and explain treasury products to internal and external clients, regulators, and banks.

• Use strong negotiation skills to develop solutions and overcome impasses in straightforward and complex transactions.

• Contribute to the team’s strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investment banks, local banks, capital markets firms, development finance institutions, and regulators.

• Work closely with and collaborate with other regional teams as well as legal, credit and risk teams, as needed.

• Apply financial models to structure, evaluate, and price transactions.

Selection Criteria

• At least a master’s degree in data science, finance, econometrics, economics, mathematics, statistics, or another relevant field.

• At least 10 years relevant work experience in finance, preferable in fixed income (including derivatives) and/or structured products within an investment bank, rating agency, or a capital market related institution.

• Highly motivated, results-oriented team player with an ability to multi-task and thrive in a transaction-driven environment and to pay attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

• Solid knowledge of fixed income markets including interest rate and FX derivatives and/or structured products combined with strong analytical skills, problem solving capability and financial modeling skills.

• Demonstrated ability to structure and analyze various fixed income instruments for corporate clients (including local currency loans, derivatives, bond and/or structured finance).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
