of Digital Forensics Investigations Consultant, which will be based in the organization’s Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) at our Headquarters

in Rome, Italy.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Within delegated authority, the Digital Forensics Investigations Consultant will be responsible for the following duties:

• Provide digital forensic services including recovery and acquisition of evidence from IT equipment, preservation and management of evidence using best industry practice during investigation and archiving;

• Analysis of evidence including device data extraction, recovery of corrupt data, electronic mail extraction and database examination;

• Perform regular data mining and data analytical procedures using appropriate tools (e.g. Intella) to assist in investigations, including regular data mining to highlight potentially fraudulent activity.

• Assist in the interpretation of the results of such procedure;

• Perform comprehensive technical analysis and interpret computer-related evidence such as e-mail, various databases, and information stored on electronic devices using forensic tools and methods;

• Document the chain of custody process for forensic evidence, as well as evidence acquisition and analysis methods;

• Carry on the implementation of electronic discovery, computer forensic investigations, and related services for large data sets;

• Collect pertinent information related to OIGI cases utilizing WFP corporate database, including SAP, and available public databases;

• Review the collected data along with OIGI case materials, analyse the data and produce comprehensive analytical reports;

• Carry out any other duty as instructed by the OIGI Forensics Officer/or management team

RESULTS EXPECTED:

The Digital Forensics Investigations Consultant will be under the supervision of the OIGI Forensics officer and will assist OIGI Investigations Officers in carrying out investigation activities. The Digital Forensics Investigations Consultant is expected to:

• Show ability to think and articulate concisely;

• Provide thorough and well-reasoned written contributions, reports, and recommendations in a timely manner;

• Show effective and timely interaction with colleagues and concerned parties, internally and externally;

• Contribute to OIGI’s policies and procedures and best practices;

• Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner, keep confidentiality and exercise due care in carrying out his/her work;

• Undertake the tasks in accordance with the standards of quality, style and format used in OIGI.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

Advanced University degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Criminal and Forensics Sciences or related field. Relevant professional certification in the field of computer forensics.

Experience:

• At least three years of professional experience in computer forensics, investigations and evidence handling, e-discovery processes and data analysis with an international organization, a law enforcement agency, law firm, multinational company, professional services firm, or similar environment;

• Demonstrated knowledge of the latest digital forensic techniques (acquisition and analysis) applied to hard drives, electronic devices such as mobile phones, networking and encryption, principles, and techniques of computer security investigation, etc;

• Demonstrated knowledge of digital forensic tools, methodologies, and protocols;

• Demonstrated knowledge in the development of automated forensics scripts using PowerShell, Python, or other programming language, including EnScript Programming;

• Demonstrated knowledge in application programming interface (API) analysis for forensics investigations.

Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP’s working language, Portuguese.
