DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The main responsibilities related to the development assignment are as follows:
1- Develop the relevant technical works and products to support countries in establishing integrated system for using best available evidence. 2-Provide technical advice to the adaptation and development of public health and clinical practice guidelines; including adaptation of WHO guidelines to the regional or national contexts. 3. Participate effectively in the capacity building activities of the EM countries in establishing Health Technology Assessment (HTA) programmes, and in use of HTA reports in policy making. 4. Contribute to incorporation of evidence into policies using different tools for instance; policy briefs. 5-Monitor and ensure that national activities on evidence-informed policy-making are in line with the regional action plan developed in 2020 for implementation of the framework for action to improve national institutional capacity for the use of evidence in health. 6-Coordinate the establishment of the rapid response system at the Regional and national level for adaptation or development of policy synthesis products and rapid reviews in response to the priority needs of those Members States affected by emergency situations or conflicts. 7-Perform other tasks related to the area of work as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Essential: Excellent knowledge of English.
Desirable: Knowledge of French or another WHO language would be an asset.
Specific knowledge and skills required
University degree in health policy, health economics, public health, pharmaco-economics, or epidemiology.
*Essential At least five years of experience with international exposure in the field of public health, particularly in health policy development and implementation and area of work relevant to evidence-informed policymaking.
REMUNERATION
Your current contractual arrangements and benefits will not be affected. If your developmental assignment involves a short-term move to another duty station, you will receive the hotel component of the first 60 days DSA rate of the duty station where you will be temporarily based throughout the entire assignment. Travel costs in economy class will be covered. If you assume the full functions of a higher-level post, you may be eligible for acting pay.
