Background/IRC Summary: ----------------------------

In more than 40 countries and in 26 U.S. cities, our dedicated teams provide clean water, shelter, health care, education and empowerment support to refugees and displaced people.

Technology and Operations supports the organization’s work by providing reliable and scalable solutions for the IRC’s offices around the world.

The Data Team at IRC is responsible for the design and delivery of data technology and data programs at the IRC. Our team is committed to high-impact results by encouraging relationships across the organization, driving continuous improvement, and delivering value through the implementation of high-quality, strategic data programs.

Responsibilities --------------------

· Elaborate vision for new data products that combine maps of our operating environment, with internal and external data sets that support program delivery, proposal development, donor communications, and executive review

· Create framework for data products that can be scaled globally, serving potentially all program contexts, distinguishing standard activities, processes, and knowledge management, from context specific data sets

· Develop and document technology and data management processes

· Develop global service for all programs presenting readily available datasets as follows:

o IRC locations

o Conflict data

o Population density

o Geographic and man-made features

o Needs assessment data from Global Humanitarian Overview/HNOs

o Satellite imagery

o Other data as needed

· Define, plan, and execute activities that review program strategy and assess where internal and external data sets can be incorporated to improve data driven decision making for program design, implementation, and adaptation.

· Partner with programs to research and include more context specific data

· Research, Manage, Administer and Train on new technologies, including Power BI, and new technology used for analysis, including workflows and support models

Minimum Requirements

- Humanitarian first mindset - Positive outlook and compassionate communications - Ability to lead and be flexible to change course through ambiguity and change - Relationship builder and community connector - Be an excellent communicator. You are especially skilled in making complicated ideas simple to understand through speaking and writing - Experience with reporting, visualization, and business intelligence tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI) - Experience with GIS tools, such as ArcGIS - Experience with program/project management tools (e.g. Monday.com, Trello, Jira, Microsoft Planner) - Solid understanding/curiosity about technology and analytics - Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical partners - Ability to plan time and balance shifting priorities to meet commitments - Self-starter and a critical thinker that can work independently and drive projects forward - Experience in leading and influencing others

Preferred Additional Requirements -------------------------------------

- French, Spanish, or Arabic language abilities at a conversational level or higher is a plus - Prior experience in non-Profit fundraising analytics, marketing analytics, context analytics, public intelligence, GIS, or other modern data roles
