Expected duration 6 to 11 months

Duties and Responsibilities - Development and deployment of SharePoint based applications (workflows, customizations etc). - Perform SharePoint’s application services framework including implementation, configuration, and usages of Search, Managed Metadata, and User Profile Services. - Migrates the SharePoint from on-premises to online platform. - Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. - Perform other duties as may be required.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications:

A university degree or master's degree from an accredited educational institution in information technology, information management, Information systems, computer science, computer engineering, Software engineering, Business Administration, Management, or other related disciplines;

Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience for a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years for a master's degree in migrating SharePoint to SharePoint Online and developing applications for SharePoint Online
  • Leading significant migration and remediation work on SharePoint.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience developing integrations with other Office 365 applications.
  • Experience developing with Microsoft PowerPlatform
  • Experience setting up CI/CD using Azure DevOps
  • Experience participating in Agile projects.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Bitbucket

Skills: - Expert knowledge of SharePoint Online as a platform. - Expert knowledge of SharePoint Online application development. - Expert knowledge of frontend technologies for SharePoint Online. - Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS and responsive design. - Knowledge of distributed version control system such as GIT

Language:

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Contract conditions:

  • The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds.
  • Remuneration for this consultancy will be 1800.00 USD and depend on the qualifications and relevant experience. •The incumbent can be in any UNRWA field of operations (Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, or West Bank).

    Additional Information UNRWA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) that aims to enhance livelihood and human development opportunities to Palestine refugees in Gaza.

United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) is a UN agency that provides IT services to other UN agencies on a cost-recovery basis.

UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking a SharePoint Online – Developer who will be responsible for the development and deployment of SharePoint based applications.

The consultant will report administratively to the Head Information Technology Service Centre at Headquarters Gaza and report technically to United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC).
