Background of the project

Scope of Work:

Mission goals:

- Working collaboratively with the Gender Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (GEDI) team to provide clear, and inclusive graphic design service. - Using typography, color, and layout visually attractive, creative, and accessible for the learning sessions and tools designed for IRC staff and clients. - Providing an artistic perspective to optimize the process of sharing knowledge among IRC staff members and creating common understanding to enhance inclusion and set up a GEDI transformative approach

Main functions:

- Create visuals for internal communication\ training materials related to gender equality diversity & inclusion - Bilingual\ multilingual graphics developed including infographics, power point presentations, reports brochures, fact sheets, data sets, interactive media and all the GEDI training tools. - Bring an intersectional and universal design to IRC GEDI learning series and tools.

Requested tasks:

- Transform text-based communications materials into visual graphic design materials such as presentations, infographic, brochures, backdrop etc. - Develop designs for communication materials - Provide recommendations on the best and most relevant inclusive visual design style and materials suitable for diverse audience.

Deliverables:

The consultant should be able to provide the deliverables below according to the timeline fixed upon signing the contract:

- Discrimination matrix - Intersectionality wheel - GEDI markers - GEDI Continuum - Guides, tools, and communication visuals around the tools above.

NB: 10 pages maximum for every tool

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education:

- Bachelor's Degree in graphic design or any other related qualifications\ relevant experience including art and design.

Experience:

- At least four years’ experience in graphic design production. - Experience in producing a wide range of products, from reports and advocacy products to infographics, data visualization products. - Experience in designing tools based on inclusive and universal design. - Working experience or collaboration with NGOs in development or humanitarian sector desirable.

Knowledges:

- Knowledge in concept and creation of specific graphic design assets, including infographics/factographs (for print and digital), data visualization, animation/video graphics, inclusive and interactive presentations. - Ability to conceptualize unique ideas for the training and communication tools - Have affinity with or interest in gender equality, inclusion and diversity. - Providing flexible and multiple ways to present information and offering options for perception to premise that learners access information differently. - Visual design sense that is clean, simple, and sharp, with openness to edit\adapt as needed. - Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software (sound knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or equivalent software); - Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging and multicultural environment. - Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision. - Proven experience synthesizing complex information and presenting it in a user-friendly and visually appealing format is required.

Language:

- Excellent written and spoken English. French is a plus. - Other languages are an asset

Other skills:

- Excellent inter-personal communication skills. - Organizational and coordination skills. - Ability to work independently.
