Expected duration ● The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds. ● Remuneration for this consultancy will depend on fund availability and qualifications, and relevant experience as follows: o Cluster A: $1,300. o Cluster B: $1,600. o Cluster C: $1,800. ● The incumbent can be in any UNRWA field of operations (Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, or West Bank).

Duties and Responsibilities ● Develop and maintain a custom web interface for the different monitoring tools, such as SCOM, Nagios, NNMi, Prometheus, OEM, Azure Monitoring, and New Relic. ● Develop integration through API’s ● Develop configure/maintain/improve monitoring, dashboards, and reports ● Develop ad-hoc monitoring when required ● Develop automation ● Create relevant statistics and reports for the several monitoring tools ● Administer the monitoring infrastructures, ensuring that it is stable, up to date, well designed, properly tuned, and properly maintained ● Extend the current infrastructure and/or implement a new infrastructure following capacity management plans ● Provide guidance to Tier 1 workforce ● Identify and troubleshoot known problems and document solutions ● Perform required tasks in maintenance windows ● Provide “stand-by” services on a rotation basis during weekends, holidays, and outside of normal working hours ● Perform other duties as required

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: ● A university degree from an accredited educational institution in information technology, information management, computer science, or other related disciplines;

Experience: ● Experience in developing, Administrate, monitor infrastructure as per the following: o Cluster A: A minimum of 2 years of experience. o Cluster B: A minimum of 5 years of experience. o Cluster C: A minimum of 7 years of experience.

● DevOps experience, ideally in Prometheus, New Relic, Azure Monitoring, Terraform, Consul, Packer ● Experience in .NET C#, Java, Javascript, Bash, VBScript, and PowerShell development and XML. ● Dashboards and reports experience ● Good knowledge to monitor Active Directory Domain Services, SharePoint, SQL, Exchange, Skype for Business, Apache, Network devices, Lotus Domino, ISC DHCP, BIND, SNMP, Oracle databases, etc. ● Good knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

● Knowledge of Prometheus, Azure Monitoring, New Relic, Elk, SolarWinds, NNMi, Nagios and/or other monitoring tools. ● Experience in SCOM and Management Pack development.

DESIRABLE Qualifications

● ITIL certification.

Additional Information UNRWA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) to enhance livelihood and human development opportunities for Palestine refugees in Gaza. United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) is a UN agency that provides IT services to other UN agencies on a cost-recovery basis.

UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking an enterprise Monitoring DevOps responsible for the Development, Administration, and Operation of ICC’s Monitoring Infrastructure.

The consultant will report administratively to the Head Information Technology Service Centre at Headquarters Gaza and report technically to United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC).
